🌸Could a new start heal her appetite for life?🌸

When Cath moves to a rural Northumberland village to escape her husband’s betrayal and a life that no longer feels her own, she’s determined to embrace a fresh start. But the quiet charm of her new surroundings seems only to magnify the loneliness of being on her own for the first time.

On a whim, Cath suggests starting a supper club, transforming her garden shed into a cosy, twinkling haven where neighbours can gather. What begins as an effort to ease her solitude becomes something far greater – a circle of friends, each bringing their own stories, struggles, and laughter.

As bonds deepen over shared meals and mishaps, can Cath discover the healing power of community…and dare to believe in love again?

I found the reader very good,
I liked the story very much, enjoyed detail descriptions of houses, furniture, little details of decoration in the house or flat, that describe the personality of someone. What they are really like.
Love description of food, that I shall try and cook myself and that wonderful idea to visit each other and share a meal in turn.

People caring for others and welcoming friendship

I found this to be a gentle, easy listen — calm, cosy, and pleasant enough — but ultimately a little slow for my taste. I chose it because Karen Cass is one of my favourite narrators, and while the overall narration was clear and easy to follow, some character voices didn’t quite work for me. Nicky, despite being a young mum, sounded much older than expected, and the Greek accent felt slightly off, which occasionally pulled me out of the story.

I loved the premise and the blurb sounded wonderful, but I kept waiting for something more substantial or emotionally engaging to happen, and it never quite did. It’s a nice, undemanding listen if you’re after something very gentle, though I personally finished it feeling a little underwhelmed.

It felt underwhelming
