Well told and very sad. It breaks my heart to think people were treated that way but they were and I’m sure things were actually even worse than portrayed. Nobody should ever be treated that way. Truly heartbreaking.

Listened to this book over the course of a couple of days as it was hard to put down. A heart wrenching story with great characterisation and suspense, yet historically accurate to general events. Beautifully narrated.
