About this listen

Get ready to fall in love with this royally charming rom com — featuring a full cast and an immersive audio soundscape!

Maggie Patel has landed her dream job at The New York Spectator; or, it would be, if she could get a decent story assignment. When a career-making interview finally lands on her desk, it’s with the last person she’d ever want to see again — Edward, the Crown Prince of Bairmorne...and her long-ago friend.

When Maggie was a child, her mother worked as a housemaid at the Royal Palace of Bairmorne, a small European nation, until they were unceremoniously kicked to the curb...amidst a cloud of whispered controversy and palace intrigue. Now, Prince Edward and Maggie are all grown up and they both have jobs to do — but there’s a spark between them they can’t deny. Will that spark lead to something more, and can their attraction withstand public scrutiny, royal duty, and secrets from the past?

A little romance to relax on the weekend. A light story and, despite having the typical romance clichés, it surprises in some ways and is quite engaging.

sweet and light

I've listened to a few stories now w full cast narrators and the added background sounds.... It does make for an enjoyable experience! Albeit very different from traditional narrations)
This is not exception, very sweet and romantic... Sure a bit predictable at times but did have one major plot twist that took me by surprise (in a good way)
Very good voices even if the majority sounded more British than from s

I see lots of reviewers have complained about the sound effects being intrusive, but I enjoyed the sound effects and the fact it was done like a radio play. Performances pretty good (apart from the prince who was extremely hammy). Contains every regular-girl-meets-a-prince cliché in the book but if you like Hallmark royal romances you'll love it.

Fun undemanding romance

I read the reviews and completely agree that the sounds arnt needed but this is a classic reading show story not an audio book and it does have some merit. You like the characters and despite a few obvious turns and some unnecessary microphone use I actually enjoyed it! Will I relisten… no. But I didn’t hate it!

Honestly not as bad as the review say

An easy listen and good little twists.
The great voice actors help bring the story to life 🙂
