Summary

Acclaimed author Lori Wick is one of the best-selling Christian fiction authors in the world, with more than two and a half million copies of her books in print, including The Proposal. When Anne Gardiner slips off a ladder, she falls—quite literally—into the arms of a handsome stranger named Robert Weston. Anne’s father decides the couple must marry immediately, but Robert isn’t entirely fond of that plan. The Rescue is a moving story that shows how God’s love can touch each person in a unique way.

Well read

Book very well read. I think I prefer to read this one as it is very wordy and you can't skip out the bits on an ebook the same. apart from that it's great.

I Loved the Book and despised the performance

Would you try another book from Lori Wick and/or Virginia Leishman?

I love this series! I love Lori Wick! I have never read a book of hers that I haven't liked. However, the performance by Virginia Leishman left a lot to be desired. Now don't get me wrong, her style of reading was good for the most part, and the various voices that she used for the different characters was also good, it was the noises that she kept making with her mouth while she was reading that drove me insane. Every time she made one of those noise I wanted to cringe. At one point during this book, it got so bad that I almost gave up on the entire series when I realized she read all the books. The noises that she made almost sounded like chewing or like she was swishing the spit in her mouth around. It was just gross and I believe I will stick to reading these on Kindle from now on.

How could the performance have been better?

Virginia Leishman could have read the story exactly the way she did with out all of the gross noises that she made with our mouth and I would've given her four stars. Those noises were just horrid!

Was The Rescue worth the listening time?

No, but not because of the story. I say this because of the cringe worthy noises that the narrator made every time she paused and sometimes even before that. It was like she was swishing spit around inside of her mouth or something.

sweet christian love story

starts with concern and friendship in marriage into true love in the marriage. yeah, I guess a bit far-fetched in today's world perhaps...but I really enjoyed the book that takes place in the 1800's. anyway I enjoyed the book. if you are looking for a good christian book, a good christian author and a sweet love story, I think you will like this book.

A wonderful story

It is a blessing to read and or listen to a talented Christian author. The story unfolds in such a way that each character becomes real and the setting is visual. I truly can hear the Christ like dialog and behavior in the main characters and relax and enjoy the story without being concerned about inappropriate language or those special intimate moments being tainted by unnecessary graphic detail.
Thank you, Lori Wick for your beautiful stories.
