Summary

How hard can it be?

That was the question rolling around Larissa Mason’s mind just before she asked Hollis Hudson to be her fake boyfriend.

It was only supposed to be for five minutes, after all.

Granted, that was also before she felt his hand on the small of her back as he charmed the heck out of her family.

And it was definitely before she saw the football god shirtless. Otherwise, she would’ve had an idea of just how hard some things could be.

It turns out that pretending to be in love with a crazily handsome, somewhat enigmatic, and absolutely unforgettable tight end (that has an amazing tight end) is easy.

Reminding herself that just because opposites attract doesn’t mean they’re forever is much harder.

What they have isn’t love - it’s a relationship pact. Right?

AUTHOR'S NOTE: The Relationship Pact is a fun and flirty college sports romance with lots of heart. No cliffhanger.

Cute and sexy, with a lot of funny moments too

I loved this book very much. It was cute and sexy, with a lot of funny moments too, and I really liked both characters.

The chemistry between them was amazing. They seemed made for each other right from the beginning. They had an instant connection that went beyond a simple physical attraction. Their relationship developped from cute and fun, to scorching hot, to emotionally intense. I loved it. There was still a little angst, but the grand finale was worth a little pain.

Their relationships with friends and families–or chosen families–were also beautiful. And fun. There was a lot of banter that I enjoyed very much. But also very positive messages about love, support, acceptance.

I didn’t realize it at first, but the story was connected to another book by the author I’ve read before. Just let me tell you, since I didn’t recognized the characters at first, I wanted to read their story. Guess I don’t have to! But that means that even the side characters are compelling, with intriguing stories that you’ll want to explore. Just be prepared to plunge into a whole new world.

I may be biased since both narrators are my favorite, but I thought they did incredibly well with this book. I felt the characters’ emotions–including lust, yep. Narration was fluid and lively. A very good audiobook to listen to.

Brilliant listen, awesome story

Teddy and Erin voices are so good when reading this story I often got lost just listen to them speak and forgetting everything else around me.

The story by Adriana Locke is amazing what starts out as a guy helping a girl out of an awkward situation turns into a friendship (relationship pact) to help each other out during the week between Christmas and New year, but soon turns into so much more that neither of them were expecting. In Larissa eyes Hollis is a typical jock who she has just sworn off dating, but Hollis is a sweet lonely man who is battling against always being left behind after bouncing around in the foster system. In Hollis eyes he is not good enough for Larissa and fights against everything he wants because he has nothing to offer her, but Larissa soon sees the man Hollis is and refuses to be another person who leaves him. Can Hollis find what he always wanted and needed with the help of people he meets in Savannah.

Cute and fun!

I loved this fake relationship story, Mallon and Hamilton truly brought Larissa and Hollis to life. I haven’t read many of the Landry family or Mason family books but I do recognize a few of the other characters and they are also a joy to catch up with. I enjoy sports romances and I’m glad this one did not completely get flooded with just sported talk and games and the like, it actually revolved around the characters and their story. Truly a great listen!

Great story!

I love a good sports romance and, mix it with a fake relationship, and I'm definitely one clicking. Adriana Locke is a great story teller and her characters always have lots of layers and a realness about them. Hollis completely stole my heart, he has such strength but also a vulnerability which really drew me in straight away. Riss is perfect for him and I loved them as a couple. Full of feels but with plenty of heat and fun too, I devoured this book!

Erin and Teddy are great choices for the narrators of this book. They really bring the characters and story alive, I always know I'm in for a treat when I see them listed!

Enjoyed This One!

I very much enjoyed this story. I’ve always loved a good “fake” relationship story and this one did not disappoint, especially with Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon doing the narration. This book also had other characters that were fun which helped the story along.

strong characters

I really enjoyed this book more than the other two and I actually have enjoyed it more than the other books I've read by similar genre authors simply because there's not so much cussing that the storyline is inhibited and the sex isn't thrown in every other page. it was a good read and while i honestly I don't think guys actually think things like "her hair shines like molten gold" hollis doesnt wax on like that constantly (crewe did). however, it is nice to fantasize that men actually talk and think this way about the woman they love.

Wow great read/listen

Omg Hollis and Rissa’s story was so good. I could not put it down. Getting to see some people from other stories was so interesting. Lincoln is still a favorite of mine from Adriana Locke and I still love his random check ins in other books like this one. Hollis you can’t help but root for when you hear about his past and his family history. Larissa has such a bad choice in men until Hollis that you can’t but hope he is a good one. I could not put this down and you can only hope that a fake relationship will hopefully become real. I can’t wait for any other books for this Adriana Locke and her series where you can meet and remeet character. Narration also kept me listening and now I want to look for more by these narrators

Love the banter

Ris and Hollis create a relationship pact, but she has no idea he is anti-relationship. Will her heart get broken? Can she change him? Or will the pact end as planned, no harm/no foul.

This is a fake relationship story, but, it ends with so much fun banter. I love the bombshell she drops in the epilogue. "Good things happen" is the best way to describe it. And the bonus epilogue is hilarious. Only three best friends could pull off the witty comments.

And let's not forget Grandma Judy. I love her. I think we should all have one of her in our lives.

Teddy Hamilton was the perfect narrator for Hollis. Brooding and pessimistic, yet wanting so much more. Erin Mallon played Ris very well and the scene where she is giving Hollis what-for for breaking up with her is the best. And, of course, they both played Grandma Judy perfectly.

Get ready for the heart warming. 💛

Hollis had a crap year playing football and when he is given the chance to get away for awhile to support a good cause he jumps on it.
Larissa just wants her ex to leave her alone and her mom off her back about dating. Bumping into Hollis at the local bar could be just the thing to solve all her problems and more. 🤔
So they develop a Relationship Pact, a way to get what they want with no strings attached but we all know and LOVE when those feelings come to surface. I thoroughly enjoyed how the more they pretend to date the closer they become both as friends and intimately and I am here for it. 🥵
Teddy Hamilton voices Hollis perfectly down to every last growl, and Erin Mallon's voice is exactly how I imagined Larissa, girlish with that little bit of grit mixed in. 😍

Hollis Hudson has my heart!

I received a copy of the audio book for an honest review!

Touchdown for the Kings of Football. This book rounded out the series perfectly. Bromance, humor, angsty, small town, fake relationship. Not to mention some of Adriana Locke’s characters make an appearance from other series.
I absolutely loved Hollis and Larissa’s story! I wanted more.

As for the audio - the narrators did an amazing job. I felt like they brought the characters and story to life.

Great Story of Love and Learning to Accept It and Yourself

This book is the story of Hollis Hudson,
He is the tight end of the best friend trio of the Kings of Football series.

We met Hollis in Savannah, GA after Christmas to receive an award from Lincoln Landry’s charity. THE Lincoln Landry, if you read Adrianna Locke’s books you know Linc. Hollis really does not want this award as working with foster kids is not about recognition for him, but his passion. He has only agreed to receive the award if they do not specify what he is receiving it for.

Hollis is at a crossroads, he thought he would be going to the NFL, but after a disappointing senior season he is at odds on what his future holds.

His first night in Savannah he meets Larissa in an adorable met cute. Larissa’s smarmy ex boyfriend has been pushing his new girlfriend in her face all night and she decides to ask the hot guy she meets at the bar to pretend to be her boyfriend to get the ex to leave her alone. Hollis is happy to cuddle the beautiful Larissa and to shut down the douchebag ex. From there they exchange numbers in case she needs a fake boyfriend again.

The next day Hollis needs Larissa to stand in for his lack of family and friends and she needs him to attend a society function to get her overbearing mother to back off.

Along the way we meet the adorable Grandma Judy, Larissa’s feisty best friend Bellamy and Larissa’s amazing aunt and fun loving cousin. The Masons will become a whole lovable Locke series.

In the process of faking it Hollis and Larissa open up to each other and fall in love. It is sweet and you fall for both of these slightly damaged people as they face their challenges on the way to accepting themselves and learning not only to accept themselves, but to accept love.

The rip that tears them apart is believable for a man who has never felt true loved or worthy of love. The journey of hearing him learn that he is worthy of love and accepting it and that his love is an amazing gift was wonderful.

At the end you have a satisfying ending and will look forward to seeing Hollis and Larissa again in other Mason books.

Swooning over Hollis

I loved Larissa in the other books I've met her in and I was thrilled to see her get her happily ever after. Hollis is the perfect compliment to her. He carries a lot of baggage that he keeps tucked away, but things tend to surface as feelings deepen. I loved watching these two take their fake relationship into a real one. If there is a person who deserves to feel love, it's Holllis. I loved watching him become the man I knew he could be.

The narrators did a great job bringing this story to life.
