About this listen

Wentworth, Ohio: a small, friendly town where the Carver children bicker over sweets in the E-Z shop and writer Johnny Marinville is the only resident who minds his own business. On Poplar Street, apart from the impending storm, it's just a normal summer's day - with Frisbees flying, lawn mowers humming and barbeques grilling.

As the paperboy makes his round, he is unaware of the chrome-red van idling up the hill....

Soon the residents will be caught up in a game of wills as the regulators arrive in force to face a child whose powers of expression are just awakening.

If you like The Regulators, don't miss Desperation, written as an unidentical pair.

Stephen King stories seem to me to work best when there's something credible about them. There's not a lot in this one - well whacky is my summary. The reader Frank Muller is good, but there's just too much incredible in this story for my taste!

Not one of his best

From the imagination of King himself comes this extraordinary tale of TAC, a unknown entity from the bowels of the earth, who inhabits a young boy and causes havoc most evil on a small town way out west! Written as only King could write!

Nothing short of pure terror in suburbia!

This book is an interesting companion to Stephen King's Desperation. The narrator is extraordinary, he elevates a middle of the road story. There are some audio issues, there's a noticeable echo in some parts, for quite long stretches at a time

Narrator is phenomenal.

His narration skills are a peak performance! Very big like for his extremely professional performance!

Frank Muller is amazing

I am not usually a fan of the horror genre....

but this is an amazing story. It takes mind over matter to the extreme. And creates a marvelous weave of fiction

Brilliant story
