A new world, beautifully described. A new mythology, with characters wonderfully imagined and brought to life so well by the narrator. Twists, turns and jeopardy throughout. A slow burn romance, which is not the main theme of the book. A thoroughly enjoyable read, I loved it.

Well it was good, but a lot going on. I am glad book 2will be a while, don't think I could handle it right after this one lol.

I immediately felt like I was in good hands with this story. Fantastic narrative that builds to exciting peaks and makes you want to keep listening. The performance was great too: the voices of the Raven flock and Sol in particular were brilliant. Real horror, with some truly awful characters and no perfect heroes or heroines fighting against them; lots of difficult choices and terrible consequences. Loved it and already looking forward to finding out what happens next.
