About this listen
She's the definition of don’t even think about it.
Look up off-limits in the dictionary, and not only is her name there—it’s underlined, bolded, and signed by her dad.
And yet, here I am.
Kissing my coach’s daughter against a wall where anyone could see us.
Easily the dumbest thing I’ve ever done.
Starting a fight on the ice? Sure.
Taking a slapshot to the ribs and playing through it? Not my brightest moment.
But this?
It’s the kind of mistake that could end me.
And the craziest part?
I’d do it again.
Because if Sophie Novak is a mistake…
She’s the only one I ever want to make.

The narrators spoke at a good speed and inflection. The difference between the characters was handled well.
Story - 2.5 / 3 stars
The story was fine, I liked the way the MMC pursued the FMC and the way author wrote about their feelings towards each other. I felt the reason the Russian mafia son ratted on the father a bit far fetched but hey it wrapped up the story arc and allowed Liam to easily win Sophia back.
I did not enjoy the MMC, I felt that he made decisions for the FMC and never once apologised for it. He justified his decision to hurt her by saying she would have wanted to be involved and he couldn’t take that chance. That was patronising and demeaning relegating the FMC to a secondary position which made me question if they would be partners in this relationship. I really wanted the FMC to have gone on a date with someone else at the very least, so the MMC could get an inkling of how the FMC felt. Unfortunately the MMC made me dislike the story and I felt the FMC capitulated too easily. The family dynamic was good and well written.

Liam’s and Sophie’s relationship is one of drama, off limits and humour. The two of them both feisty and bending is something these two learn. Both are perfect for each other and once the drama is settled it is heat and chemistry all the way.

The narration was excellent (Pierre Manhattan has the smoothest deepest voice and actually a decent women's voice that doesn't make you cringe!) And Shane Martinez brings Sophie to life with humour.
As for the story . . .
The story was great! Coach Novak is a force to be reckoned with and the whole family are such a strong unit. The relationship between the siblings was so well written!
Sophie's character was strong, determined, and relatable. Liam as the MMC was complex and his family history was woven well into the story. His desire to protect Sophie even if it meant losing her was 💔.
The grand gesture at the end was brilliant!!
Well worth a listen!

Storyline lacked a little for me. It didn't have me gripped needing to know what will happen next. It was an easy to enjoy book but some decisions made the characters just had me rolling my eyes and wanted to skip chapters.
Overall a good book and I would pick up another from the series with a different trope as I enjoyed the writing and witty humour throughout.
