About this listen

Welcome to The Protector Guild:

Rule Number One: Guild above everything.

Rule Number Two: Hunt or be hunted.

Rule Number Three: Stay away from the demons locked in the basement.

In the shadows of the human world, a secret society of demon hunters fights to keep humanity from the supernatural forces that threaten to tear it apart.

But for Max Bentley, a rookie hunter struggling to find her place amongst her kind, the biggest threat might just be the four brooding, enigmatic members of the most elite team of hunters—all of whom seem to have taken a special, antagonistic interest in her.

She quickly discovers that their past is as dark and complicated as her own. As she is drawn deeper into the mysterious world of demon hunting, she finds herself torn between her duty to her people and her growing attraction to her team. It's more than her heart on the line, it's the very fabric of our world.

the first book is all about getting to know the characters and world building. Max has lead a very secluded life with little interaction so in these first 3 books we see her learn to navigate new friendships and relationships. in the second book we get to know more about how the protector guild works and team six realising they are connected to Max somehow. book three is Max coming into her own a bit more and the story starts to unfold more. so far I feel the books are aimed at YA, if your looking for spice so far that hasn't surfaced, it does say its RH so maybe there's so spice later in the series. narrator's are good.

an enjoyable listen

Three books at a nice price, come on what’s to gripe about, three books can just roll one to the next. No disturbing talk about the title etc. At first I thought I was onto a winner but at book two - it becomes unbearable. Winging hormonal teenager always doing the wrong thing, pushing her nose into things she should not be near, her heart throb is mad at her. How anyone who is supposed to be gifted can be so crass is beyond me. Finally picked up the courage to remove both the audio and the kindle versions. Really bad and crazy bad.. if you want adventure look somewhere else.

Started off very promising but at book 2 it fell apart.
