About this listen

**B.A. Paris's stunning thriller THE GUEST is available now**

Secrets. Suspicion. Survival. No one writes relationships better than B.A. PARIS.

'Dark, daring and irresistible' CHRIS WHITAKER
'Claustrophobic and menacing' DAILY MAIL
'A rollercoaster ride, with plenty of twists' OBSERVER
'Absolutely impossible to resist' C.M. EWAN

THEN

Amelie has always been a survivor, from losing her parents as a child in Paris to making it on her own in London. As she builds a career for herself in the magazine industry, she meets, and agrees to marry, Ned Hawthorne.

NOW

Amelie wakes up in a pitch-black room, imprisoned and alone.

Why has she been taken? Who are her mysterious captors? And why does she soon feel safer here than she had begun to feel with her husband?

In true B.A. Paris style, The Prisoner is a gripping survival story, a twisted tale of love and at its dark heart a thriller to keep you up all night.

Enjoyed but felt at times it focused on certain things for a very long time and then suddenly rather than you working things out for your self through clues you are just told everything at once. Abrupt end. Didn’t not enjoy and I wanted to keep listening but left wanting more from it.

Twists and turns but not completely unpredictable

Personal thing but I found the narrator irritating when she was being Ned which distracted me. The story line was ok but was glad to get to the end of the book.

Ok

The story line was good but I think the chapters were too short, and the ending was rubbish.

Quite a good read

Not her best though, wasn’t as gripped as I normally am with BA Paris - worth the read though.

Love BA Paris

I wanted to try another book by BA Paris, because I’d loved Behind Closed Doors. I quite enjoyed it, but unfortunately, it didn’t even come close.

The ending was quite rushed and I felt like things weren’t fully explained. I was expecting something cleverer to link it all together.

The narrator did a good job. I’m not sure whether this was a version for a US audience though, because even though it was a book by a British author, narrated by a British voice artist, the book was full of ‘vacations’ and ‘car trunks’ etc, which grated on me every time.

Could have been better, but kept me listening to the end.

Interesting storyline
