I’m determined to win over the one guy who hates me…but I never expected to fall for him

Being a prince may seem like a fairytale, but to me, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. That’s why I’m excited when I get permission from my uncle—the king of Norway—to go undercover as a student at an American college for a year. And I’m even more ecstatic to be selected for their football team. Soccer, I mean. The only problem? Farron, the team captain, dislikes me on sight. Determined to win him over, I start a charm offensive, but nothing works. He only hates me more.

Until the animosity comes to an explosive release…and we end up kissing each other. How did that happen when neither of us has ever been attracted to a guy before? Farron wants to let it run its course and get it out of our system, but I doubt that’ll work. I’m falling for him hard, but he has no idea who I really am. I fear that if he finds out, he’ll never speak to me again…

The Prince and the Player is the first book in the Prince Pact series and features an undercover, sunshiney prince and a grumpy, handsome soccer captain, two guys who mistake hate for attraction, a double bi-awakening, and two opposites who attract each other like magnets.

Perfect for fans of Casey McQuiston, Alexis Hall and Jax Calder

Brilliant story and narration. my only criticism is that the American voice actor wasn't how I pictured Farron sounding. but when the other imitated his voice it sounded better.

LOVE

I absolutely loved this book! I’ve already listened to the audiobook three times since it came out, and I enjoyed it more each time.

It has a slightly different feel compared to some of Nora Phoenix’s other stories, but that’s exactly why I loved it—it’s refreshing, light-hearted, and just a really good, feel-good romance. The characters do grow and develop (you just have to actually pay attention to the story rather than expect instant drama).

One of the narrators stood out more for me, but overall the audio performance was excellent. This book might not be “comedy” in the classic sense, but it’s refreshing, engaging, and definitely worth a read/listen.

Honestly, this book is a credit well spent, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a romance that leaves you smiling.

Warm, Engaging, and Absolutely Delightful

I’ve listened to nearly all of this authors books and was disappointed with this one. The story is ok, but the narration was awful, too many long pauses made me think it has stopped. The accents were inconsistent.

Ok story but narration ruined it for me.

Denne boken er lest med østlandsk engelsk aksent på den norske prinsens POV 🤣

Advarsel

Poor characterisation and development. Characters are barely developed, dialogue is not witty or funny or engaging anyway. Its a by the numbers enemies to lovers completely lacking in any kind of drama or interest. Boring.

Poor example of enemies to lovers
