There is a lot of money to be made at small-stakes no-limit hold'em because...surprise, surprise...most of the players aren't very good. However, few players understand exactly how to exploit these games. Competent players who generally play larger stakes will, of course, beat them. But they won't beat them for nearly as much as they ought to. Why? Because they don't understand how to adjust correctly.

Most poker books and training videos on tournaments and Sit 'n Gos are by professional poker players, who play at the highest stakes. Whereas you can learn a lot from studying them, they won't always be as useful to you when you're playing at the low stakes. Playing low-stakes games against beginning and recreational players requires a whole different strategy and approach than playing high-stakes games against the best of the best.

I had much higher hopes
I am sad to be rather disappointed by this audiobook. I don’t think it would be right to give examples from the actual chapters, but I find a lot of over simplifications and contradictions that must be extremely hard to navigate for beginning players. Furthermore really not a book I find could make me approach the top 1% by any means.

Emphasizes on poker strategy
The book mainly emphasizes on poker strategy as a concept level. Exmaple: why is position important - why would not raise with a 6-9 in the mid-position : Yeah, we know that late position is important, but this book has put forth a clear explanation as to why late position is important using examples from real life.

I wouldn't waste my money on this
This is a good example of the fact that you can write a poker book even though you aren't NEARLY qualified to do so. This is not your quick fix to climb to the top, nothing is. I haven't gotten through the book yet but the start is already riddled with untrue statements and bad tips for learning players. Get anything else
edit 1: The author is clearly confused on what tight/loose and aggressive/passive are. FYI they describe very different things. For example he says "if on a tight table, loosen up a little" which is decent advice. then he says "if you are on an aggressive table, tighten up a bit". This is NOT the opposite of the previous statement, he should say "on a LOOSE table tighten up". A tight table can be aggressive and a loose table might be passive.
edit 2: Yeah, no.. nonononono.. He says that preflop ace king of diamond has "65% poker equity". For one, poker equity is not a real term, and two, you can't simply say you have 65% equity preflop if you don't know what your opponent's range is or if you don't know how many opponents you have. If your opponent can only hold aces, kings, or AK you are a huge underdog, or if you are facing 3 opponents your odds aren't nearly 65%. I'm done with this waste of a book..

Yes great info :
I am new to poker and this book gives me comprehensive understanding not only on theory but also on practical tips I can apply in my game. The instructor has great understanding on the subject! So far I've gone through pre flop, calling ranges, players types and I see improvement in my game. Excellent starting point for me! I am excited to learn more. Looking forward for the rest of the course.

The cover marketing is deceptive. Just a simple introduction not done particularly well.
This is regurgitated basic Hold’em theory not done particularly well. If you are a beginner, there are many books that are worth your time, money, and effort that are much better than this. If you’ve been playing awhile, a complete waste of resources. Save your money and skip this.
