I had much higher hopes

I am sad to be rather disappointed by this audiobook. I don’t think it would be right to give examples from the actual chapters, but I find a lot of over simplifications and contradictions that must be extremely hard to navigate for beginning players. Furthermore really not a book I find could make me approach the top 1% by any means.

Excellent !

Been playing for 15 years. Lately been running cool and this book has helped me eliminate leaks with straight forward poker talk. not gibberish and range charts. Tired of listening to starting charts and percentages. it all runs together eventually. after 15 years I want some straight forward truths about poker and people and after 3 listen throughs this book is the one I always come back to. love this book.

I wouldn't waste my money on this

This is a good example of the fact that you can write a poker book even though you aren't NEARLY qualified to do so. This is not your quick fix to climb to the top, nothing is. I haven't gotten through the book yet but the start is already riddled with untrue statements and bad tips for learning players. Get anything else

edit 1: The author is clearly confused on what tight/loose and aggressive/passive are. FYI they describe very different things. For example he says "if on a tight table, loosen up a little" which is decent advice. then he says "if you are on an aggressive table, tighten up a bit". This is NOT the opposite of the previous statement, he should say "on a LOOSE table tighten up". A tight table can be aggressive and a loose table might be passive.

edit 2: Yeah, no.. nonononono.. He says that preflop ace king of diamond has "65% poker equity". For one, poker equity is not a real term, and two, you can't simply say you have 65% equity preflop if you don't know what your opponent's range is or if you don't know how many opponents you have. If your opponent can only hold aces, kings, or AK you are a huge underdog, or if you are facing 3 opponents your odds aren't nearly 65%. I'm done with this waste of a book..

Yes great info :

I am new to poker and this book gives me comprehensive understanding not only on theory but also on practical tips I can apply in my game. The instructor has great understanding on the subject! So far I've gone through pre flop, calling ranges, players types and I see improvement in my game. Excellent starting point for me! I am excited to learn more. Looking forward for the rest of the course.

Avoid. Computerized sound

Avoid this book. It is too simple and for instance instead of saying a Pair of Aces, it says "A to A" (written A-A I'm sure) Painful to listen to.

Very Basic

Unless you are brand new to Texas Hold em there is nothing to learn from this book. Narration is poor as well.

Quans review

It's very clear concise and informative giving a unique perspective on playing poker it comes from a format of not telling you what to do but how best to do it and why

Very standard poker advice.

This book could have dove into a few deeper topics about poker, but it stayed true to more basic concepts of the game. The book offered inspiration while refreshing some of those concepts, and that is probably where the book is most valuable. If you're a poker player who already knows a bit about the mechanics of your game, you would like this book to give you a refresher and maybe a boost in confidence about what decisions you make with poker. All in all, it's great game strategy review for poker players, as well as a refresher to thinking about the game.

Epic content, bit outdated

Very good to get a solid game. Use this book as a base and go to but try to add on the newer strategies like overbets for example. Hard to follow the pace at times but great stuff overall.
