Summary

Karen Hamilton's THE PERFECT GIRLFRIEND is a frightening depiction of unbridled obsession, where love and pure hatred grapple on a knife edge. The perfect new psychological thriller for fans of The Girl on the Train and Gone Girl.

Juliette loves Nate.
She will follow him anywhere. She's even become a flight
attendant for his airline, so she can keep a closer eye on him.

They are meant to be.
The fact that Nate broke up with her six months ago means nothing.
Because Juliette has a plan to win him back.

She is the perfect girlfriend.
And she'll make sure no one stops her from
getting exactly what she wants.

True love hurts, but Juliette knows it's worth all the pain...

Critic reviews

So addictive it should come with a warning (Alice Feeney, author of Sometimes I Lie)
One of the best twisted narrators I've ever read. Perfect indeed! (C.J. Tudor, author of The Chalk Man)
I genuinely couldn't put it down - Juliette is such a compelling character. Totally gripping and thrillingly different. I loved it (Laura Marshall, author of Friend Request)
Brilliant and terrifying (Fiona Cummins, author of Rattle)

not a bad story and I adore Anna Friel but all I could hear at the end of every sentence was her swallowing saliva, it was so distracting and once I noticed it it became totally fixated on it and I couldn't finish the book

narration made me feel a bit ill

Story was excellent. Kept my interest all the way through. Could see this being made into a film. BUT detested Anna friels narration sounded like she was eating and swallowing all the way through. If the story had not been so enthralling I would have given up

Brilliant book

I do love a book where the main character is is somone you do not really like very much but you cannot help but want them to win. This story is so well written that I had great feelings of empathy for poor, twisted Juliette, wondering how on earth it was all going to end. Anna Friel's narration was brilliant, brought the story to life.

a brilliant anti-hero

This is a cracker of a first novel - It's a mixture of psychological thriller and domestic noir with the ultimate bunny boiler of a main character thrown in! However....like so many other reviewers before me I found the narration to be truly awful. The narrator puts long pauses where they shouldn't be (constantly!) and the intonation is all wrong. Add to this constant swallowing and sighing and you end up with an uncomfortable listen. I'd suggest reading this one!

Great story, dreadful narration
