Summary

Kit O'Hare is struggling to prove her abilities to her father and her boss. After an unfortunate accident while playing the Easter Bunny lands her, literally, on top of the mayor's son, she realizes her hopes of keeping her job are over.

Without an event coordinator, Brant Fuller may never get his bar up and running properly. But when luck places him in the right place at the wrong time, he finds the solution to his problem—Kit.

Like rum and Coke, the two mix well. However, Brant is harboring a lie that could ruin them before they begin.

Cute Short

This was a cute short story with some comical moments and one steamy scene. Kit and Brant were well written for a short story and I would have loved to experience more of their relationship.

The narration was perfect!

This was a fun and easy afternoon listen.

A lovely short romance

I adored this short novella by Erin Bevan. Both Kit and Brent were lovely characters with their own flaws. They made a great team and a combustive couple. I loved the concept of Brent's bar. The story was fun to read. Great romance with only a touch of drama to spice things up. I will definitely read Erin Bevan in the future.

Ava Lucas did a fabulous job with this narration. I loved her voice and pace as well as the quality of the recording.

Stand alone novella

Ava Lucas did well with the narration. There were distinguishable voices for most of the characters.

I would like to give the story 3.5 stars. There was a lot of the typical secret-keeping relationship drama/running away from issues/not quite grown up yet stuff. Novellas often feel like teasers for, or continuations of, other stories, but that was not the case with this one. This was a shorter version of a full story. I liked the writing style and would be interested in reading more by Erin Bevan.

Fun short story

This was such a fun listen. Kit was running the Easter Egg hunt as an event coordinator but disaster struck. (really funny scene). In the midst of disaster, she meets Brant. He’s the mayor’s son but he’s trying to separate himself from the family so he doesn't tell her his full name. He needs an event coordinator so he hires her but they are very attracted to each other. Can she forgive him for his omission when she finds out?

The book was short but so cute. The hero and heroine were so much fun and there is such great chemistry between the two leads.

Ava Lucas was a perfect narrator- she had fun voices for different characters, varying accents and deepness of the voice. She was fantastic at comedic timing. She brought a lot to the story.

Really enjoyed this and it has brilliant narration

Ava Lucas does a brilliant job with the narration. I could easily tell who was who and just got sucked into the story.

Oh goodness me! I really enjoyed this story. It made me chuckle, it made me smile and made me consider is an omission a lie? Such great characters, I enjoyed watching them as they worked their way through what was going on. Although this is short is feels very complete. Enjoyed it totally.

Sweet and Cute!

I really like this sweet, cute novella written by Erin Bevan. I felt it was original and well written.
It's about a young woman trying to fulfill her dream as an event planner, working for the Mayor's office.

She planned an Easter Egg Hunt in the park and she had one mishap after another trying to pull it off. One terrible incident occurred between her and the Mayor's son; which at the time she didn't know he was his son, that knew would cause her to lose her job, so she quit.

Fortunately for her, the man she had the incident with, offered her an event planner's job with his new bar that was opening up in a couple of weeks.

During this time, the two of them were developing feelings for each other but was trying to kept things professional. He continued to keep the secret that he was the Mayor's son from her, afraid that it would cause her to quit and he didn't want to lose her.

We all know secrets only cause things to go one or two ways.
I enjoyed listening to how the story unfolded and I definitely enjoyed the ending.

Ava Lucas did a wonderful job narrating this novella. I would recommend, "The Party Crasher" to others.

Cute story...

This was a really cute novella. I liked both main characters. I chuckled at their memorable first meeting. I thought the chemistry and connection was well written, especially for such a short story. And I was invested in their HEA.

I loved the narrator Ava Lucas. She was a big part of what made this book enjoyable. She gave so much personality to the characters and I liked the different character tones.

Overall the book was a good one.

Adorable

Kit is devastated when the job that she thinks will finally turn her luck around blows up in her face. To top off her humiliation, she meets a man that she hits it off with right away. Brent witnesses a disaster of an event. But he winds up becoming smitten with Kit. Once he finds out her story and that his parents were involved, he decides to withhold who he is from her.

This book is full of predictable tropes. Including the "don't tell her who I really am". I know this is coming out like a bad review, but it's not. Despite all the eye-roll worthy mess of this story, I loved it. I absolutely just adored it. My only criticism is that it wasn't long enough for much of the back story to be built up a little better. It's still a very refreshing read.

The only characters you really get to know fully are Kit and Brent. There are some other characters sprinkled in, but you don't really get too much of them except dialogue. I adored both Kit and Brent, but I'd of loved to see the back story of some of the other characters. Especially Brent's parents. They did a good job for a novella though.

The narrator, Ava Lucas, is just too cute! I love the country accent she has in this book. I will be honestly floored if somebody tells me that her accent is faked. She does such a great job with it. I do have a small critique about her though. There were times that she didn't do tones right for certain characters. It wasn't many times, and it's not really that distracting. I think it happened maybe three times.

I didn't think I'd enjoy this story as much as I did. This was one of my out of my comfort zone picks. I was very pleasantly surprised by the fact that I really enjoyed it. I read over half of it in one sitting. Then, I read the other half in another. I'd of probably read all of it in one sitting if I didn't need sleep and have errands. I fully recommend this for a light and refreshing read.
