I have enjoyed Daphne D’s books and recently read an ecstatic review of this one, but ended up a bit disappointed. Wonderful narration but the story itself meanders very slowly through the Delaney lives. There are some striking events, told brilliantly, but these are rare. Perhaps I was expecting a different kind of novel.
