About this listen

Linden McGregor is tall, rugged, and gunslinger handsome - a helicopter pilot with a Scottish brogue and charm to spare. He's also one of Stephanie Robson's best friends and has fit into that box for as long as she's known him.

Beautiful, funny, and an ambitious businesswoman, Stephanie Robson is one of Linden McGregor's best friends and has fit into that box for as long as he's known her. But some relationships can't be boxed, can't be classified, can't be tamed.

Back in their mid-20s and tired of the competitive hit-or-miss dating scene of San Francisco, Steph and Linden made a pact to marry each other if neither one of them were in a serious relationship by the time they hit 30.

It sounded like fun and games at the time, but as the years to 30 tick past and lovers come and go out of their lives, the pact becomes larger than life.

Sex is inevitable. Friendships are tested. Hearts are on the line. The pact is about to change everything.

Really liked this novel from friends to lovers romance. The only thing I disliked was the male actors scottish accent was awful they would have been better off using either a Scottish or American actor for this part. Lydia Dornet is a good narror always enjoyable Karina Halle is a good author listened to quite a few of her books.

Great narration, especially Lindon’s Scottish accent and cheeky personality. I loved the banter between him, James and Steph and the character’s chemistry was amazing.

Lindon’s voice - swoon

Brilliant story but the main character’s Scottish accent was diabolical and cringe worthy. Us Scottish people do not sound like that. But persevere with it as the story is fantastic.

Fantastic story

The story was good, a few emotional moments and flowed well but it was really difficult to listen to the awful Scottish accents. I know it's a difficult accent to master and if I wasn't Scottish I doubt I'd be able to speak it but there are literally millions of people who could perform this better. There were parts that weren't too bad but for the most part it made it difficult to listen to. We don't pronounce 'her' as it is spelled or how it was said in this audiobook, it comes out more like 'hur' and I don't know anyone that pronounces couch like 'cooch'. When will they start to use actual Scottish people for these instead of someone who thinks they can do a good imitation of the accent until you compare it to the real thing?

Why can't they use Scottish performers?
