Fantastic advice but...

This book contains fantastic advice and is wonderfully helpful but it would be good to get an accompanying pdf of the recipes or, at the very least, a chapter list so that they can be referred back to. There a little bit hard to follow and use as a reference in audio form only and I don’t want to have to purchase the hard copy just for the recipes - I’ll have to navigate my way back and take notes. Other than that, can’t recommend the approach outlined in this book enough.

Common sense approach, suitable for someone starting to run a home or as a refresh

Summed up in my opinion: Break your chores into days so that you’re not over whelmed e.g. spend 30 mins per day doing house work from Mon - Fri. (Doesn’t have to be a 30 min block, could be e.g. 2 x 15 mins). Keep weekends free for other things. When you use something put it back in its place/tidy up. Don’t procrastinate/“be kind to your future self” e.g. don’t leave the night before dirty dishes in the sink if you’re fit to do them that night. Declutter your house to making cleaning easier/quicker. Don’t let the laundry build up to overwhelm you, keep it to a minimum e.g. don’t wash clothes unnecessarily i.e. can they be reworn without washing? Invest in a slow cooker - I did that a couple of years ago and can confirm it is brilliant as it’s a full meal in one pot ready with minimum effort when I finish work. I’d add to it, make a load of dinners in advance and freeze them, especially if you’re trying to prepare food for someone else or to fit in with travel/busier times.

Not for me

This book left me aspiring for a fairer marriage and a professional weekly cleaner. Slow cooker recipes sound delicious, however I can't download them as a PDF so can't use them :(

OBE for Gemma for services to overwhelmed parents!

Oh my goodness, this is a game changer! Such down to earth, non judgemental, clever and wise practical advice. I now have time to play with my toddler and for me - and the well ordered home I've longed for. Amazing recipes, amazing tips, incredible Christmas run up check list all for busy parents on a budget. I'm dyslexic, so found the daily focus on a room has really helped me use my time wisely. The house looks beautiful and I have so much extra time. The whole family have benefitted positively. can't thank Gemma enough. what a clever, resourceful, solutions based lady!!

Great read

If you follow Gemma on insta it is a more detailed look in to her wonderful method. Easy to listen to with some helpful tips with a pinch of humour. Would recommend for anyone trying to become a bit more organised in the busy mum world.

Life changing

I absolutely loved listening to this book. The method is brilliant and it’s changed my life giving me more time to spend with my family in a clean and tidy house. I enjoyed the audible version so much because Gemma’s voice is like having a big sister who is gently and lovingly guiding you through what you need to do. I can’t wait to start all the Christmas organising tips! Ive listened to the book twice and keep going back to it!

boring

it was interesting at first but it dragged on and on to the point i lost interest. its basically telling you to do a little a day and you wont struggle cleaning loads on your weekend or day off 🙄

Great organisation tips not only for mums

Thanks Gem for such pleasant read of your book. I've been in TOMM fb group for a while now and loosely following the method, but I'm now ready to start full steam ahead. Not only cleaning but also cooking and general organisation sound very easy. Off to your blog for the print outs 😁

What a breath of fresh air

I have followed Gemma's Instagram for a few months before trying The Organised Mum Method myself. I absolutely love it and thought I would see what her book was about. Absolutely fantastic - the content on cleaning, family life, daily struggles. I loved it all. I am childfree and share a home with my partner but still the advice is every bit as useful. Only thing I could have hoped for is more veggie recipes as my partner and I are vegan, and at times that felt very meat focused. I will be listening again and recommending to all friends and family, welldone Gemma.
