About this listen

2045, the Arctic Circle. A crew of six aboard the research vessel, The Nox, embark upon a voyage through the melting ice and Arctic dark in search of the last of the polar bears. The mission represents a ray of hope in a world ravaged by climate change, but it quickly becomes clear that some on board are in search of more than bears....

Isolation and the disorientation of 24/7 darkness soon have the group losing their grip on reality – accidents, nightmares, or hauntings – no one can be sure, but the voyage seems cursed. For Professor Clara Fitzgerald, the mission quickly turns from conservation to survival as she realises that danger lurks not only out on the ice, but on The Nox itself.

The Nox is a nightmare fuelled SciFi thriller that asks how far is too far to save the world.

Mmmm ...The cast.was superb, the atmospherics phenomenal and the story could have been good but lost itself in too much muttering, snow scrunching, roars and muffled voices, distant singing, children calling, footsteps, sobbing, wind and sea crashing, screams and banging on doors - oh, and the occasional gun shot. All very well done but so much of it that, combined with the slightly eery music, the background took over the book.
I enjoyed listening but, although there was an excellent idea buried in there, it was pretty predictible and rather disappointing.

Didn't find myself drawn into the characters worlds really. The audio was very good and some solid acting (mostly) but if the story is boring or too hard to follow due to lack of narration then those things count for nought.

Gave up after 2 episodes.

Atmospheric & well acted but ultimately dull.

was a good listen. production-wise couldn't fault it, although a narrator would have been helpful for some of the sction sequences, yet would have taken away from the disorientation meant for the theme of the production.

overall the story was very good, and the premise, all intertwined in a round-about way was also good.

would recommend a listen through it, but perhaps not in one sitting.

enjoyable and cerebral

I thought this was great to listen to and the cast are amazing. The storyline is really good and it hooks you in. As the story goes on it gets a little farfetched. When hoping for a great ending to the story, you get a bad one. The ending doesnt really wrap up the whole story and seems a bit lazy.

Great story until the end
