5 The Unexpected Blind Date Stars!!

There’s something about how Erin Mallon brings life to a book that has me enchanted from beginning to end. I love how she can narrate both the Hero and Heroine making me fall in love even more with a book!!

I absolutely loved everything about this newest book by Ms. Aston. It’s filled with quirky humor and characters that had me laughing from beginning to end. Audrey is a girl that is trying to make her vintage clothing dreams come true and one day changes everything when a potential client invites her to meet her son who needs a date… Little did Audrey know her son was also the Governor that she is currently crushing
on!!

Warren Russo is the man of a lot of women’s dreams and she may or may not be stalking him on social media which creates all sorts of emotions when she’s introduced to him face to face…

“The thing is, my crush on the governor is of the normal variety. Meaning I haven’t stalked him on the internet. Much. Just regular run-of-the-mill socially acceptable kind of stalking.”

The inner conversations Audrey has with herself provided many snort inducing laughs and when you add in her “employee” Miller and her cat Gary and well the setup is perfect for a romance that I think Ms. Aston is the queen of!

I had to admit I found Warren Russo a little standoffish in the beginning… but seeing as he’s the governor I guess he can’t be anything but professional when he’s around his constituents… until he meets Audrey and well, let’s just say their repartee is on point!! I loved how Audrey is herself and it takes this man by surprise.

What’s also surprising to him is the attraction he feels towards this beautiful woman. She makes him think outside the political box that he’s usually in because of her quirkiness and frankness in her conversations and actions and he likes it…even if he won’t admit it at first!!
This book reads fabulously and once I sat down to enjoy the words that Ms. Aston has written I was hooked and couldn’t stop until I finished the book. This book is exactly what I needed right now and I highly encourage you to one-click this one and be ready to laugh, swoon and everything in between!!

Meeting the her crush

Audrey is positively delightful with her slightly stalkerish tendencies against the governor. I mean look at him. His Instagram page is filled with pictures that would fill your fantasies for hours and make your heart absolutely melt when he is with his dog Duke. Her soft heart for all animals is inspiring! She is absolutely brilliant as she creates works of fashionable art and I laughed through the entire book! Warren will definitely surprise you with his romantic heart. An absolute must read that you will not be able to put down! The narrator is absolutely delightful and brings Audrey and Warren to life.

OMG Loved this book!!!

So funny and great sexy times! The humor kept me laughing throughout the whole book - and that’s saying something for me! The story progressed at a good pace and I did not feel like to book was too long or too rushed.

I loved this book and I cannot recommend it enough! I quickly went to find more by this author as she is new to me! And, of course, Erin Mallon was her amazing self with the narration!

Oh dear….

Generally love Jane Aston books! Many previous are 4-5 stars for me, but this one is nowhere near par for her work. I wish I had paid attention to the negative reviews. The narration was good - she did the absolute best she could with the material. The story, though, is no bueno. All internal thought from h, and though she’s 27, her thoughts and actions were those of a 13 year old. In fact, the deepest relationship in the book is that between the h and her teenage “assistant.” Didn’t get to know the H at all, and no real development or growth of a relationship. No banter, no warmth, no spark, no anticipation.

Struggled to finish, and only did because I’m stubborn. Bumped it to two stars because of Erin Mallon’s narration, and hoping this is just a blip for Ms. Aston.

LIGHT AND VERY ENJOYABLE

Firstly, I have to say well done to Erin Mallon because this talented narrator really delivered a five star performance and she brought the fun, the characters and the warmth out of this addictive love story.. bravo girl.

Secondly, what a wonderful and amusing slow-build as aloof Governor Warren can’t help but get tempted by, and ends up falling hopelessly in love with, ditsy, quirky, awkward fashion designer Audrey. This talented lovable woman upcycles vintage clothing by redesigning them into something fabulous and it’s one of her customers who will play Cupid. It’s Warren’s mother who arranges their first blind date because she feels they’d be perfect for each other.. and I have to agree, they are a perfect fit.. even with their ‘fake’ first few events. And even with all the insecurities running through Audrey’s mind about the skeleton in her closet that could ruin everything. The interactions and lighthearted banter between Audrey and her young opinionated assistant Miller enriched the story too.

Worth a credit? Yes I loved this upbeat entertaining easy-going lite-angst romance told from Audrey’s POV.

Silliest book ever

I usually love Jana Aston, but this one is a total fail for me. Stupid, silly, and just cringe-worthy. In addition to the MC saying the wrong words because the author thinks it’s cute (quid pro quad), I’m pretty sure someone in fashion design wouldn’t refer to fabric as “material.”

This author has some pretty sexy, steamy books, but in this one, the couple of sex scenes are very rushed with almost no detail. I didn’t feel any chemistry between the characters.

One star is being generous IMO.

Really fun listen!

I think I was smiling all the way through this book. What a delight! So witty and often laugh-out-loud funny. The characters were well drawn, and the quirky ones were fun and endearing. The book was well paced and tight. I’ve listened to tons of books narrated by Erin Mallon, but I'm not sure I fully appreciated her talent until this one. Really fun listen.
