Summary

FOR SALE: A lovely family home with good-size garden and treehouse occupying a plot close to woodland. Perfect for kids, fitness enthusiasts, dog walkers....

And, it seems, the perfect hunting ground for a serial killer.

On a hot July day, Garrick and Olivia Lockwood and their two children move into 25 The Avenue looking for a fresh start. They arrive in the midst of a media frenzy: they’d heard about the local murders in the press, but Garrick was certain the killer would be caught and it would all be over in no time. Besides, they’d got the house at a steal and he was convinced he could flip it for a fortune.

The neighbours seem to be the very picture of community spirit. But everyone has secrets, and the residents in The Avenue are no exception.

After six months on the case with no real leads, the most recent murder has turned DC Wildeve Stanton’s life upside down, and now she has her own motive for hunting down the killer - quickly.

The Neighbour is a thrilling stand-alone novel by the author of Rattle, Fiona Cummins.

One of the he's books that I have listened to

I have listened to many books, mainly thrillers and this book, both the excellent writing and the outstanding narration is most definitely in my top 5. Amazing. I couldn't stop listening and then towards the end I stopped for a while as I was so desperate to listen to the end but didn't want it to end. It was so hard to wait and I admit, I didn't wait very long at all in the end. Listen to it please, it's quality. What on earth do I listen to next???

Awful!

I am on chapter 28 i have no idea what is going on in this book! I started from the beginning a few times, just to make sure I wasn't missing anything, but I wasn't. Not for me

Only Fair

So many different scenes, names n locations, hard to keep track.Narrator was very good.Decided to see the book out as I was 70% through it and would have been a waste not to see it through.

Ahrg, that was painful

I had read the reviews before I purchased the book, so I felt I had to listen all the way through. That book was way too long, with no real substance.

No idea what was going on despite rewinding!!

Couldn’t follow this at all. As another reviewer said - rewinding to the beginning didn’t help at all. Maybe it’s because it’s audio and not being read? Who knows? More to the point who cares?!! Looked forward to this after the good reviews. Obviously I’ve missed something. Good luck!

farfetched review and narrator lacks enthusiasm

farfetched story, plot, characters. Narrator drones on in a monotone yet shrieking voice. unpleasant. The twists and turns..? pffft.
