About this listen

A widower haunted by grief. A witch on the run. A second chance at love through magical wine.

Hugo Dodds is numb, grief-stricken, and haunted by the memories of a life taken from him all too soon. He tries to move forward, but cannot let go of Elizabeth—his beloved wife—after her passing.

A late-night backyard encounter introduces Hugo to his eccentric new neighbor, Alice Primrose. She’s secretly a witch with the ability to make magical wine. Alice hides in Hugo’s small town after the betrayal of a former lover causes her to flee from the life she knows and loves.

Alice’s zest, hope, and optimism draws Hugo closer and their relationship grows through a shared love of wine. But as their feelings develop, they struggle with the ultimate question: Are they ready to let go of the past and move forward together?

Hugo is learning to find a way to cope after losing his wife. With his newly adopted furbaby, Max he takes his routine walk, trying to avoid the sympathetic stares of the people of his small town. Until one day he notices a new neighbor, who moved in without anyone realizing, the only giveaway being the outstanding purple color in the otherwise normal street. Soon he meets Alice, a witch-hat wearing purple haired woman who is far more than she seems. I love everything about this. It's giving mild gothic vibes and romance in a small town.

The cute modern day fantasy set in a small town.
