Story
When two young girls disappear from their primary school, the village of Heighington is put on high alert - and not for the first time. Called in to investigate, Detective Karen Hart is sure that parallels with a previous disappearance are anything but coincidental. DS Hart is still reeling from a case she tried and failed to solve eighteen months ago, when a young woman vanished without a trace. She’s no nearer to the truth of what happened to Amy Fisher, but with two children missing now, too, the stakes have never been higher.

Summary
An Amazon Charts bestseller.
In Paris, her twin sister has vanished, leaving behind three chilling words: Trust no one.
Shayna Darby is finally coming to terms with her parents’ deaths when she’s delivered another blow. The body of her estranged twin sister, Angela - the possible victim of a serial killer - has been pulled from the Seine. Putting what’s left of her life on hold, Shayna heads to Paris. But while cleaning out Angela’s apartment, Shayna makes a startling discovery: a coded message meant for her alone...
Alive. Trust no one.
Taking the warning to heart, Shayna maintains the lie. She makes a positive ID on the remains and works to find out where - and why - her missing sister is hiding. Shayna retraces her sister’s footsteps, and they lead her down into Paris’s underbelly.
As she gets closer to the truth - and to the killer - Shayna’s own life may now be in the balance...
Critic reviews
"Marr’s debut novel follows a San Diego medical student to, around, and ultimately beneath Paris in search of the twin sister she’d been drifting away from. Notable for its exploration of the uncanny bonds twins share and the killer’s memorably macabre motive." (Kirkus Reviews)
"[A] gritty debut...the intriguing premise, along with a few twists, lend this psychological thriller some weight." (Publishers Weekly)

Boring is about the bes I can say about this book.. I didn’t much like the bland characters anti the story was weak. I made myself finish this book but found I really grudges the time as I could have been reading something much more enjoyable.

Terrible
This was the worst book that I have ever wasted a credit on. It is so long and drawn out. It ridiculously stupid. The main character who is a self proclaimed "intellectual ", is one of the dumbest characters I've ever read. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!

Thought it was awful
I listen to a LOT of audio books and read a lot as well. This has got to be one of the worst books I've ever suffered through. Often I considered stopping it, but I kept hoping something would improve. After a while it got to be a personal challenge to see if I could finish it. This story just dragged on and on and on. The plot was dull, the main character very annoying. Blech is all I can say. And I rarely leave a bad review but I just had to on this one.

Prepare to suspend any sense of reality
At every turn the main character takes a path that nobody with an ounce of common sense would take. The author’s use of long felt emotional trauma as the reasons why Shana plows the course she takes made me cringe with incredulity. I kept thinking that there would be some sort of Sixth Sense explanation at the conclusion that weave things back together. As the author might write: “but alas, that was not to be.”

Not for me
The idea for the story was okay, but the execution was lacking. Nothing interesting happened until the end, then it all happened at once and the frayed ends were tied into a neat little bow while still leaving plenty of unanswered questions. I feel like I wasted a credit on this.

Silly and uninteresting
I read a lot. Today is June 1 and this is the 70th book I have read this year. Because I read a lot, it is sometimes difficult to find something interesting to read. I rely heavily on the ratings from Good Reads. That’s how I selected this book, based on the Good Reads ratings. Boy, were they wrong. For me this was 294 pages of rambling. I guess according to the story it is the sister of a woman who is missing. She provides in mind numbing detail everything she thinks and says. It is supposed to be a physiological thriller. For me it was neither. Recommendation: Skip it.

Disjointed and illogical
Thought this was going to be much better than it turned out to be. The premise of the story is silly and unrealistic. The main characters thought and actions do not follow logic and reasoning. Her inner dialogue along with communication with her sister is more of middle school girls than two adults who are in graduated school. I think this could have been so much more. Very disappointed and not worth the time.

Book was good up until ending
The reveal of the killer and his motives was a real letdown. His reason for the abductions/killings was absurd.
