Such a disappointment therefore, to have this extensive text read by the author who, devoid of acting technique himself, fails to bring the story to life and keep my attention.
It is frustrating to have to level this criticism at a text that is brilliantly written but which ought to be a compelling listen and just isn’t. I am left wondering who made the decision that the author should also be the narrator?
