Overall, it is well written and the story is rich and full of fast paced action.
I would recommend a listen, and with the first four available as a single omnibus, it makes the collection great value.
Two things I really need to raise as both affected me, one a minor 'you what' the other more irritating as it went on through the books.
The more minor was one of the creatures. If you are going to liken something to a Minotaur, please don't then describe a mutant variant of a Centaur. These are two totally different beasts. The first (In traditional fantasy) A bipedal human body with a bulls head, Not what you described. You described a four legged creature with an animal body and a demon upper body - a variant of the horse body/ human upper torso of a Centaur.
OK - minor and nit-picky... but as a fantasy author, I would expect it to be at least close to what you are comparing it to.
The second was to me, the one thing that more and more made me really consider giving up.
Never have I ever heard anyone in real life say ha ha, hehe or - apart from Santa - Ho Ho.
Maybe I am being picky, but this was a regular and increasingly annoying part of almost every conversation. There are so many ways to indicate humour, sarcasm and irony without having the characters literally saying 'what happened there ha ha', 'It was a demon he he' etc etc.
Maybe you wont find it grating, but I have to say what was good and what I found not so good.
In conclusion, despite these little irritations, a great book series.
