4.5 ⭐'s, this has been out for a few years but came out on audiobook this week, after really enjoying the lights out series it was kind of a no brainer to give this one a go and I loved it, right from the start of Navessa Allen's books I get drawn in by the characters and stories and this was no different, I loved Layla & Michael, the intrigue of this book and the "he falls first" feel, there's plenty of magic and mystery and I can't wait for the next book (at the time of listening and reviewing I did try to find any info of when the next book would be out but couldn't find anything) the narration was also really good again for this one.

A lot, and I mean a lot, of unnecessary rambling and repetitive drawn out dialogue. I was massively disappointed, struggled to finish it, had to come back to it several times. Didn’t feel the connection between characters and the male narrator puts on a weird voice, not really much to him. Wouldn’t waste money on this, maybe wait til free!
