About this listen

One day, your son disappears from the playground.

Ten years later, will you finally get the truth?

The disappearance of firearms police officer Jonah Colley's young son almost destroyed him. A phone call from an old friend leads Jonah to the warehouse Slaughter Quay, and the discovery of four bodies, with a link to his son's case. Attacked and left for dead in the dark, Jonah is the only survivor.

Under suspicion himself for what happened at Slaughter Quay, Jonah uncovers a network of secrets and lies about the people closest to him—forcing him to question what really happened to his son all those years ago...

I never write reviews, until now. Loved this booked, not full of cliches and usual procedurals, the weather, the girl with red hair, etc. Not forgetting Paul Thornley one of the best narrators, so often I’ve returned just because of bad narration. Sit down, and really enjoy this book

This is my first book by this author and I will definitely look for more by him. This story grips you from the first couple of chapters right up to the last word. It's easy to feel compassion for Jonah Colley as he is very likable and I must admit I felt hostility towards DI Fletcher with his incessant questioning. All of which shows the characters are very believable. Great story. Well worth buying.
Narrator was extremely good with his different voices and was a joy to listen too.
