Meet Detective Constable Mairead Maclean. A fresh force in crime fiction

Inexperienced but driven, brilliant yet scarred, Mairead brings the grit of Lisbeth Salander and the resolve of Clarice Starling to a chilling new case. The Long Isle begins with a body on a remote beach in the Hebrides and spirals into a web of secrets in a community that guards its own. Forced to return to the islands she once fled, Mairead must face a killer and the past she thought she’d outrun.
This evocative new series brings the haunting beauty and hidden tensions of the Hebrides vividly to life©2026 Andrew Raymond (P)2026 W. F. howes Ltd Crime Thrillers Mystery Police Procedurals Thriller & Suspense Women Sleuths
