Story
The London Silver Vaults - for well over a century, the largest collection of silver for sale in the world. It has more locks than the Bank of England and more cameras than a celebrity punch-up. Not somewhere you can murder someone and vanish without a trace - only that's what happened. The disappearing act, the reports of a blinding flash of light and memory loss amongst the witnesses all make this a case for Detective Constable Peter Grant and the Special Assessment Unit.

Story
When a client tells Sam Applewhite she’s seen ghosts in the nearby graveyard, Sam dismisses it as the ramblings of an old woman. She’s got bigger things to worry about. Keeping on top of her job at DefCon4 Security Services isn’t easy - particularly since her manager is a cactus, and no one will tell her what her job actually is. But when the ghost-spotting client goes missing, and only Sam suspects foul play, she is compelled to dig deeper.

Story
All Nick wants to do is take his dying father for a perfect father-son weekend in the Scottish Highlands. It’s not much to ask, is it? A log cabin, a roaring fire, a bottle of fine whiskey, and two days to paper over the cracks in their relationship. However, Nick didn’t plan on making the trip with a dead neighbour in the back of his car. Or the neighbour’s dog. He really didn’t plan on being pursued by a psychotic female assassin intent on collecting body parts.

Stephen and his friends spent their teenage years immersed in the fantasy gaming worlds of wizards and warriors, undertaking quests to fight evil occultists, vanquish terrible monsters, and rescue damsels in distress. Now, 20-something years later, there is a real-life quest. Life as a monk has hardly prepared Brother Stephen for the mission ahead. Demon Rutspud is definitely not a damsel, but he is in distress. The evil occultists are real and if Stephen doesn’t rescue Rutspud from a fate worse than death, no one will...

A newly discovered Nostradamus prophecy has taken the internet by storm thanks to "The Oblivion Doctrine", a group of online conspiracy theorists. Apparently the end is nigh. And in case anyone’s interested, nigh is definitely a Tuesday. Doctor Ally Oldfield, professor of Medieval Languages, is summoned to Lyon for a second opinion. She’s not happy about it. A weekly newspaper dedicated to the weird and the wonderful (but mostly the weird), The Stranger Times is the go-to publication for the unexplained and inexplicable. At least that's their pitch. The reality is rather less auspicious. Their editor is a drunken, foul-tempered and foul-mouthed husk of a man who thinks little of the publication he edits. His staff are a ragtag group of misfits. And as for the assistant editor...well, that job is a revolving door - and it has just revolved to reveal Hannah Willis, who's got problems of her own.

Summary
The world’s last day has arrived. Hell itself has come to Earth. Streets of fire, rivers of blood, and the trains aren’t running on time.
But Morag Murray isn’t going down without a fight. And as the mother to the anti-Christ, she feels a wee bit responsible. And maybe - just maybe - with the aid of possessed voodoo doll Steve, a cursed donkey, and her colleagues at the Consular Mission to the Venislarn, they can figure something out, even after all hope has gone.
The fifth (and surely final?) novel in the best-selling Oddjobs comedy series.

Horrific narration
I have bought every book that Heidi and Iain have written. The month by month titles for JC are set at different levels of genius.
I loved Odd Jobs, books one to four (analogue) are outstanding. A thoroughly enjoyable romp through an impossible time and adventure
This presentation is just awful. It’s possible that the preceding volumes are equally bad, but I haven’t listened to them.
I’m about 20 minutes in and will be returning this book as the narrator is horrifically poor. My crass Hartley Hare impression from a badly remembered Pipkins is so, so much better than Matt’s “brumeey” accent.
DISAPPOINTED.

This was my least favorite series but...
I still bloody loved it. The authors are amazingly good at writing characters and staying faithful to them, which is the hallmark of an excellent writer. They are also masters of weaving complex yet comprehensible tales that are never predictable yet never have the sort of lame plot twists at the last moment that seems to be the norm these days. Even though I hated the resignation to a tragic fate that permeated all the proceeding books, the ace writing always kept me coming back. Nicely done, you two.

Wonderful, simply, wonderful!
I was drawn to this series because of the title. After listening to the first book, I was hooked.
Now after listening to the entire series, I can say without a doubt this was one of my most enjoyable listens in a while.
Both the story and the narration are to notch.
I highly recommend.

Brilliant take on the Apocalypse
Amazing and so well done! . The cast, writing and reader are incredible and I can't wait to re-read with hubby. 2nd read: Even better!!! Love how much I discovered I missed the first time. So clever and each MC is an unusual hero. This NEEDS to be a series or animated series. Very Pratchett in weird way. Top 10 fav series and Discworld is number 1...I'm sure they understand...LOL!
