About this listen

In modern day Edinburgh our reality is beginning to break down. A suicide victim fails in his attempt but ends up face to face with an Angel, an imprisoned serial killer draws pictures of real events he couldn't have seen, while a teenage tearaway runs amok believing his life to be a violent video game.

I've just finished listening! I really enjoyed the story, plenty of twists and turns! The author performs really well, making it easy to follow the different characters, and with none of the monotone/ robot voice that you sometimes get with audiobooks, the humour and emotion really comes through. I honestly cannot wait to find out what happens in book 2, I don't know how I am going to cope without my daily dose of The Life Machine!!!

it's been years since I read/ listen to something so captivating and addictive! The story gets you hooked from page 1 and doesn't let you go until... Well it doesn't. The audiobook was 14 hours and I pressed pause once to sleep about 4 hours just to wake up to keep listening. I am absolutely in love with the way of writing, the conversations and how much you just want to stay with the characters. I cant wait til I get the books just so I can read them again!!.

Fantastic very compelling story that constantly leaves in a state of wanting more. A blend of crime, thriller and fantasy that is entirely appropriate to the narrative. Excellent performance from the author Dave Pitt, who provided even more depth to his characters.
I don't want to wait for the 2nd book so I've already ordered it in print and can't wait to get started.
Thank you very much for the intriguing plot lines and a solid 15 + hours of very enjoyable escapism.
