AN INTENSE, EVOCATIVE DESTINATION THRILLER FOR FANS OF LUCY CLARKE AND WILL DEAN

I thought I saw her today. Down by the water. It was her hair I noticed. Do you ever see her, Lex? Does she haunt you too?

I haven’t been back to Eos since I first met my step-sister, Lex.
It’s been twenty-five years since that summer.
Since we went from strangers to sisters.
Since Abigail went missing.
Since we told the first lie.

Now we’re back together on the island.
So much has changed since we were teenagers.
We’ve both tried to move on from the past – from each other.
But the island won’t let us escape our secrets.

Only me and Lex know the truth about Abigail.
We’ve been living a lie for so long.
And if the truth comes out – neither of us will survive it…

Critic reviews

Compelling and utterly transportive – The Liars is a scorching summer read. Katherine Fleet’s gorgeous line by line writing and masterful build of suspense held me rapt on heat-drenched Greek island shores. I absolutely loved it (Lucy Clarke)
Secrets and lies cross the two timelines of this novel, which is both a coming-of-age tale and a gripping mystery. And with darkness and intrigue lurking in an idyllic Greek setting, this has got to be the perfect summer thriller
This addictive thriller about the friendship and rivalry between three teenage girls on a sun-soaked Greek island one summer is everything you could want from a beach read
Taut, tense, stylish and incredibly atmospheric, with a thrilling twist. So propulsive, it grabbed me and didn't let go. The perfect book for summer! (Daisy Buchanan)
Completely addictive and wonderfully compelling. A sun-dappled summer escape with a jagged dark heart. You won't be able to put it down (B P Walter)
A propulsive thriller...the sultry, sun-soaked setting of Eos in the Greek Cyclades really adds to the atmosphere
Superb storytelling. The ideal read for a holiday!
Sinister and sun-soaked, and razor-sharp on teenage girl friendships and insecurities. This is a perfectly crafted mystery that I flew through in days (Caz Frear)
A fantastic read. Combines elegance, atmosphere and emotional suspense with a twisting, sinister, irresistibly pacy plot that puts The Liars right up there with the best crime thrillers of the moment. I was swept away to Greece and completely immersed in the lives of the three girls, desperate to unravel the secrets of the past. This is heady, seductive, riveting fiction and I enjoyed every page (Emma Stonex)
The Liars is an outstanding read. Beautifully written and masterfully plotted – I simply could not put it down (Rosie Walsh)

I loved the story, how it went from past to present and the descriptions of the island and area. I also loved Rebecca Lee's voice, very smooth and calming while telling the story. Well recommended.

Great story, well told

The story was, great and based itself on emotions that many young people go through. It immerses you in those emotions and makes you feel what all the main characters went through in the past and in the here and now. Very well narrated.

Evocative intertwining story

Powerful evocation of place and of the agonies of youth and friendship but…as someone who struggles to sleep and often needs to backtrack to the last bit I remember the next morning, having no chapter numbers to help navigate was infuriating

Great listen despite no chapter numbers!
