About this listen

WWE Superstar Natalya “Nattie” Neidhart—the longest-serving female wrestler in WWE history—invites readers inside her extraordinary journey, from her upbringing in the legendary Hart family home through her more than two decades in wrestling

While most children grow up running around with their friends, Nattie Neidhart was schooled in the Hart family Dungeon, in the shadow of her grandfather Stu Hart, father Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, and legendary uncles Bret and Owen Hart. With every body slam and piledriver, Nattie fought her own way into pro wrestling—the first and only woman in her family to do so—to become a two-time women’s world champion and one of the most visible, titled, and world record-holding Superstars in WWE.

In this raw, unwaveringly honest memoir, Nattie opens up for the first time about her life as the legacy of the Hart family dynasty, candidly sharing untold details on:

  • Her chaotic childhood in the boom-and-bust world of professional wrestling, including her family’s brush with homelessness
  • Her father’s battles with addiction and other effects of chronic traumatic encephalopathy, leading to his eventual sudden death, and how they shaped her
  • Her struggle to navigate the complex dynamics between the Hart family and WWE in the aftermath of the Montreal Screwjob, Owen Hart's tragic death, and her husband TJ Wilson’s near-fatal, career-ending, in-ring injury
  • Her front-row seat to the rise of women’s wrestling and the resilience it took to thrive as a female wrestler at a time when what you looked like on screen was more important than how talented you were between the ropes

From heart-pounding glory to devastating loss, The Last Hart Beating pulls no punches when it comes to the drama, hilarity, and outright mayhem of life inside the ring and out.

Really enjoyed listening to this book as I always find it’s a lot better when the author actually does the reading, it feels a lot more realistic.

I was a massive fan of Bret and the Hart Foundation but knew little about Nat, TJ or Harry and their careers as I kind of lost interest in Wrestling once Bret retired but I did see Nat, TJ and Harry wrestling for WWE in Liverpool years ago. Fortunately the book is so written that it didn’t matter that I’d not watched wrestling or WWE for a few years this was a truly personal story which took you through all of Nat’s up and downs both professionally and personally.

I’d definitely recommend this book to any past or present wrestling fan or indeed anyone that has went through tough times so you know there is alway light at the end of the tunnel if you just keep going and chipping away.

Honest, Sincere and Truthful.

Can not recommend enough, Nattie’s life story so far is full of ups and downs, stories of hard work and determination, paying off in such an inspiring way. This book reminded me of how funny, down to earth and cookie Nattie and her family was on the show Total Divas and that’s her star power.

Could not stop listening!

really enjoyed the book through out. I never knew much about natalya neidhart father Jim. it was great hearing about the hart family, sad to hear about the effects Owen harts unfortunate death had on the family. but I really enjoyed the part of about the friendship natalya and the great Khali shared and how much food that giant can get through. also enjoyed hearing in nats words how she trained and got into the business of wrestling, also some of the tips and advise she got of Vince, the x owner of wwe.
really enjoyed this book and I will listen to it a good few more times. some of the times the words do cut away but I think natalya narrated this very well. inspiring story. and great to learn more about pro wrestlers been on the road most of there careers.

another great book about pro wrestling
