A Small Town, Enemies-to-Lovers Standalone Romance from USA Today and Amazon #1 Bestselling Author, Laura Pavlov.

Briar Sinclair is enemy number one.

She came to Blue Sky Bay with a multimillion-dollar plan and one goal: to buy my restaurant.

Too bad it’s not for sale.

She’s pulled every stunt in the book to get my attention, though I refuse to engage with a woman who came here to ruin my life—no matter how relentless she is.

Unfortunately, my restaurant is the last thing standing in the way of her powerful father’s approval.

She’s determined to convince me that this is a good idea.

We can agree to disagree.

But that doesn’t mean I’m not enjoying the effort that she’s putting in.

One minute she’s arguing with me about real estate, the next she’s tripping outside my houseboat or falling asleep behind my restaurant after working herself to exhaustion.

Did I mention the fact that she’s insanely beautiful.

I should hate her for what she’s trying to do. Instead, I can’t stop noticing her pretty pink mouth or her sharp tongue.

The more we clash, the harder it becomes to remember that she’s the enemy.

Because somewhere between the arguments, late nights, and undeniable attraction—Briar Sinclair stopped feeling like the woman trying to destroy my future…and she started feeling like she belonged in it.

I don’t know why but lately the female characters just upset me, lol… The same happened when I was introduced to Briar Sinclair. I felt she was being unreasonable wanting Bass to sell his restaurant and she didn’t even know his story. But the more I read the more I realized that Briar has her own heartbreaking story.

Briar is in town and she has a mission; she needs to buy Bass out of his lease so that her company can move ahead with their plans. But unfortunately for her, Bass doesn’t want to sell at all… And he is so stubborn, he doesn’t even want to listen to her ideas.

The more I listened, the more I kind of loved Briar and was rooting for her and Bass. Both of them had their own issues, but they both wanted what was best for the town too...

As always, I got hooked from the start, the group texts and the banter of the friend group totally LOL. But I loved how close they were and how they were so supportive of each other.

The romance was spot on I loved Jason Clarke and Desiree Ketchum narrating this story, they totally draw you in and make you fall in love with all the characters 😊

I am totally in love with all the friends and can't wait to read their stories 😊

The Last Goodbye was such a great listen! I thoroughly enjoyed the performances by the narrators and the storyline was captivating. I love some good enemies to lovers vibes and although this one was more like rivals it delivered. Bass and Briar had great banter and the secondary characters were all wonderful. Their relationship and romamance felt believable and perfect for them! I think this one may be my favorite of the two books out in this series. Desiree Ketchum and Jason Clarke delivered outstanding performances and really had me feeling the story. They hit the emotional high and lows and had me hanging onto the story for more.

Beautiful Story!

So happy to be visiting Blue Sky Bay again, even though there is some dissension brought by Briar Sinclair! She is in town getting ready to build a hotel on the property her family business has purchased. She needs to convince Bass to relocate his restaurant to get things moving, and this is proving to be more difficult than anticipated. Briar has a conscience though, and while she wants to come through to prove her worth to her father, she wants to do right by Bass. Slowly people are getting to know her and she is finding a new happiness she didn't have. And Bass is falling hard. But things aren't always as they seem. This is a fabulous listen. I love Bass and Briar, the chemistry, the friendship, it's a journey that warms the heart. The text messages had me laugh and love as this group of men prove to be more than friends but a true family, unlike Briar's! And I absolutely love hanging out with Cutler again. This is a fantastic story, and a great addition to the series. I cannot wait to visit this town again!

Jason Clarke and Desiree Ketchum narrate this gem in duet. All the voices with each character being spot on with a sound, it flows and gives all the feels. Each scene builds up to a crescendo and let me into their lives. I loved this team!

It is wonderful to be back in Blue Sky Bay for another fabulous novel, the second in the series, and I loved everything about it. I must say she started the series off strong with her first book, “My Forever Girl”, Cutler “Beefcake” Heart and Gracie Reynolds’ story, and I was wondering how she was going to top that, but she did and then some, all while bringing the same magical spark she brings to each one of her books. I love how her characters are so relatable and easy to connect with, also love the found family aspect and the camaraderie amongst the group of friends. This book is Bass Bennett and Briar Sinclair’s story, an enemies-to-lovers romance, that has you rooting for these two in no time. Bass, a chef who opened his own restaurant, worked hard for what he had, all while trying to help his younger sister Jovi pursue her own dreams by paying for her college education. There is a property developer who bought the building and the ones around him so they could build a hotel, but he signed a two-year lease and is not ready to move, nor is he taking calls from the company who want him out sooner. Briar, a real estate attorney, works for her father's company and is in Blue Sky Bay to convince Bass to relocate his restaurant, and will even help with the relocation if she could only get him to hear her out. She found her way in, and it was absolutely brilliant, though he still would not budge. She is determined and is not leaving town until he does, because her career and relationship with her father are on the line. It was great watching these two go back and forth with each other, even greater when he finally hears her out, and then see their relationship morph into something so much more. Briar had already made friends with Gracie and the girls, and fit in perfectly with them, and winning over the guys in the group took a little more time since they were all team Bass. Both have interesting backstories, and they had a lot more in common than they first thought. Pavlov wrote another beauty of a story, one that captivated my attention the entire time, tugged at my heartstrings, and put a smile on my face, especially those group chats. I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out, with a perfect balance of drama, just a touch of angst, wit and banter, charming and heartwarming moments, heartfelt emotions, and a slow burn but so worth the wait romance. As always, Pavlov’s writing, plot, and world-building are masterful and incredible, as are her character growth and development, which these two characters did in spades. McGrumpy and Magpie for the win! Thank you for another exceptional story, and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous audiobook listen performed in duet by the wonderfully talented and entertaining Jason Clarke and Desiree Ketchum, who do a fantastic job voicing the characters. They embodied their roles completely, grasping every facet of their characters’ personalities, from the two leads to the side/secondary characters. Clarke nailed it as Bass, showcasing his grumpy side perfectly, as well as his caring side. Ketchum was just as amazing in Briar’s role, witty, fierce and determined and showcased her growth in confidence perfectly too. Their expressive delivery conveyed all the characters’ emotions, making you feel each one, and they handled the witty dialogue and back-and-forth banter effortlessly, landing the humor naturally. Listening to these two perform is a pleasure; they make an ideal pair with voices that complement each other beautifully, delivering an engaging performance that holds your attention to the dialogue and story.
