"...Reverend Connors, your only chance is to confess."
"I will not bear false witness against myself."
"You would rather hang?"
"It is preferable to perjuring myself."
"Then you sir, are a fool..."
Reverend Carlton Connors remained true to his principles when he found himself under arrest for a ghastly double murder in the small Ohio town of Scotsdale - a crime he did not commit. Framed by the Ohio Bureau of Investigation, he watched in horror as the town turned against him, including his own congregation, lawyers, friends, and members of his family. This chilling murder mystery raises serious questions about faith and commitment in a fallen world - in a black comedy reminiscent of Kurt Vonnegut's God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater, Terry Southern's The Magic Christian, Candy, or Evelyn Waugh's The Loved One.
