Author's note: This short story stands alone but involves characters from the other stories and novels in the Thunderbolt Chronicles. This story takes place after the forthcoming The Pretoria Event, after the crew has returned to England.
Four remarkable women plan a night out at an academic soiree. When it is cancelled, they are momentarily at a loss. In Victorian London, there is no respectable establishment that would admit an unescorted lady, or group of ladies, in the evening.
But there is one place where such women are welcome: Tuppence Tommy’s, tucked back off Drury Lane. A haven for the discrete, the decadent, and the desperate.
