Summary
When Marshal Flint Maddox stumbles upon the gruesome sight of his best friend murdered in a cornfield, it triggers the K5 PROTOCOL, a dangerous and long dormant neural implant. He comes face-to-face with the brutal past he left years ago and the memory of monsters who tried to kill him. Unable to catch the aliens before they leave the planet with his friend’s daughter, he deputizes a posse of four androids and steals a ship.
Maddox and his unlikely crew embark on a desperate galactic hunt filled with treacherous wormholes, feminine betrayal, and aliens who consider humans an expendable race. Terminator meets The Magnifecent Seven - in Space
The K5 Protocol reads and listens like Terminator meets The Magnificent Seven in space, and I can assure you that’s a good thing! With the narration superbly maintaining the pace and excitement, the central character, Marshall Flint Maddox, rides roughshod over monsters, both alien and human, in search of kidnapped children and the killers of his best friend. Aided by an artificial crew with more personality than any human, he enlists the help of a variety of law-abiding citizens along the way as his K5 Protocol triggers and he kicks enemy backside from one end of the galaxy to the other. Strap in, it’s some ride.

A rip-roaring 5 star adventure
This was a real treat-taking me back to golden age of scifi adventure and westerns in a thrilling mix of rip-roaring action and moments of reflection. Enjoyed the premise, and Flint was a great, no holds barred anti-hero. Enjoy.
