About this listen

Justice Beth Garner (Sanaa Lathan) just landed the appointment of a lifetime—a seat on the Supreme Court. Now a mysterious company is blackmailing her for her vote on a landmark case.

Caught up in the checkered past of her hero and mentor, Chief Justice Clayton Erlenborn, Beth must cunningly maneuver through a dangerous web of secrets, deception, and cold-blooded murder. Armed with only her moral compass and unflinching nerve, she’s up against a sinister world full of undercover agents, domestic terrorists, and black ops assassins—all of whom want her to comply or die.

With her career and her life on the line, Beth must race to uncover the truth before it’s too late.

Thought his honest take on corruption in the highest positions in the land was a sad reflection of what goes on in American politics

Patterson's attention to detail as always

Great actors/narration but I did find it slightly confusing in parts.

I listen to a lot of audio books but found myself not knowing what was happening in several parts, it did all come together in the end.

Would recommend

This was a full blown audio production and a solid James Patterson. With James Patterson you know what you are going to get and it was a good way of spending some time. I did however find it hard to understand how the judicial system worked with the nominations but it was interesting to learn.
