Julie, like Chopper, is a lost soul—she dreams of life outside her father's brutal orbit. Her fate is about to change at their first meeting. A bond is formed, a resolution is made: Chopper will get her free of her family, if she'll betray her mission.

Soon their desperate game of deception begins—a game which will inevitably end in a bloody denouement.

The understated organizer of plans, his angry cat and his patient wife are as good as ever. brilliant plot. great narration and believable litany of characters. Jonas at his very best!

Nothing groundbreaking here on the Jonas Merrick thrillers and GS delivers all the twists and character growth with skill. I really loved the new main cast. The end, for me, lacked the usual coming together of all the strands into one big drama, but that’s a nit pick. Ben Allen gives a fabulous performance of all the players. So many accents!!

Oh Mr Seymour, you are an absolute genius. I have to say I lost confidence towards the end of the last title in this series as I found it ludicrous. You have redeemed yourself with The Irregular. There is no other narrator on the planet who could have delivered as Ben Allen did. Totally absorbing, packed with surprises, twists, turns and totally unexpected scenarios. Wow, incredible and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! To those uninitiated - do not blink!

It’s as always intriguing and written in a beautiful way with the story swiftly shifting from character to character.
