About this listen

More demons, epic battles and fights to the death: introducing the unmissable next instalment in the Summoner Trilogy....

On trial for a crime he did not commit, Fletcher must face the Inquisition, who will decide his future. The process is grueling, led by those who will do anything to see him suffer and haunted by ghosts from the past with clues to Fletcher's tragic origins.

But Fletcher has little time to dwell on these new revelations when the king announces a deadly challenge to the graduating students at Vocans. One that involves entering Orc territory to complete a risky mission. With loyal demons by their sides, commoners and nobles, dwarves and elves must overcome barriers of class and race and work together to triumph. The reward: a fortune in gold, the safety of an empire and peace.

With the entire empire watching, Fletcher has much to prove, but there are those out to get him, and it soon becomes clear that there's a traitor in their midst, trying to thwart the mission and create unrest within the empire. With everything stacked against him, Fletcher must use everything in his power to fight his way to victory.

Absolutely amazing! (Shaun McGrath, Broughton High)

The book was superbly well written with a story that while sometimes a bit liner to those veteran readers/listeners like my self it still manged to keep me on edge in this book you see the start of a "closer" relationship between Fletcher and sylva which i promise is not cringey it brings the same elements to the table as the first book with a few additions
The narrator is the same as the first book and while Stephen fry is better he is the second best which is high praise indeed
Too conclude the book is a brilliant second installment in the serious and manages too end on a cliffhanger (again)

Loved it but a bit little character introduction

once more an engaging world that I think about at night and think how cool it would be to have a demon. the start is super long in this book and it slowly gets going.
narrator is really good except that he doesn't do girl voices which is slightly off putting

least the dwarves pronounce mana right

Dominic Thornburg really brings the characters to life each with a personality of their own, enhancing on the incredible story written by Taran Matharu have listened to the series twice now

A fun story with engaging plots and characters. I nice bridge between classic fantasy and more mordern fantasy elements. looking forward to the next instalment.
