OK so why does a story set in America have a British narrator? I couldn’t get past that to begin with but glad I stuck with it as story is pretty decent for a free listen. Character development is excellent and there’s narrator is very strong, although wrong accent! Very predictable but an enjoying listen.

Good story if you can get past the narration

Good

A good start to the story, the background is nicely laid out and explored. However when we got to the height of drama towards the end I fear it fell rather into a clichéd and was pretty twee at times. Disappointing way to end what was building up to a good story

Not bad but the ending let it down

Absolutely gripping, I was on tenterhooks pretty much all the way through. Narrator was excellent, just right for this abominable tale!

Scary and satisfying

One of the best narrations, wasn't distracting or annoying at all and read very well to convey the creepy atmosphere, which is also down to the writing of course, kept my interest throughout and possible the only horror book ever to have my blood run cold. Really good story and I feel it wouldn't be out of place as one of The Conjuring movies, just throw Ed and Lorraine Warren into the mix.

Great narration and story
