Captain Jason Burke is a man apart, and not just because he's the only of his kind for thousands of light-years in any direction. The changes to his body and to his genetic code have made him faster, stronger, more able to survive in his dangerous occupation...but they've also ensured that he'll never truly fit in with others of his species. great story as always, albeit a bit simple at times. And the narrator keeps irking me with awkward pauses, including there not being a pause where clearly the story jumps and a long pause is necessary. nothing too bad, just awkward

what a perfect conclusion to the introduction of the human race and Jason's univers comes crashing down on earthlings that aren't ready and have made a deal with the wrong species.
