About this listen

It’s the perfect getaway. Will they make it out alive?

Something magical is just what I’ve been looking for. I’ve never felt good enough amongst my husband’s richer friends, but a Valentine’s weekend in a stunning new hotel in Finnish Lapland is our chance to shine. The staff promise perfection by recreating our fondest memories—the happiest moments of our lives.

When we arrive, they play our favourite songs while we sip the champagne from our wedding night.

That evening, we share the dinner from our first date under a starry sky.

The morning after, I wake alone and find my husband in the swimming pool with another woman.

There are certain memories I would rather forget, but they seem to be coming back to haunt us. My husband promised he would change, but can I trust the man I married?

When a huge storm arrives, I’m trapped. It’s just me, my husband… and our secrets. The power goes down and paradise becomes a nightmare—can we make it out alive? Or will this holiday destroy us both?

An utterly addictive and twisted thriller that will have you hooked from the start and won’t let you go until the very final page. Fans of The Hunting Party, One of the Girls and The Sanatorium will be totally gripped!

Critic reviews

‘Unique, intriguing, very relevant…After two days of the kind of all-consuming reading that I love, I emerged from the luxe-Scandi bubble, blinking into the real world. Verdict: it delivered, and then some. With a concept this strong, that’s one hell of an achievement. Loved it.’—Caroline Corcoran, Sunday Times bestselling author

the main English girls voice is very annoying to me I cant remember her name and her character is pretty pathetic and annoying and whingey so she annoyed the heck out of me to be honest.
The other annoying thing was the ending I didnt like how they went from the scene to a year later it just felt like something was missing and her husband's reaction was odd and hers to what happens.
Other than that it was good and the performance was. I just think this concept was great and it was good but just certain things could have made it better but the main one was I didnt feel sympathy for the annoying British honeymooner because she was just so pathetic honestly I dont know another word for it.
