Summary

Following the downfall of a tyrant in the Wall Street Journal bestselling Kingfountain trilogy, years have passed in prosperity for the kingdom of Ceredigion. Now, as the time comes to celebrate the new king's nuptials, the specter of a new enemy emerges to destroy all that has been painstakingly built in those years.

Tryneowy Kiskaddon has grown up learning military and diplomatic strategy from her father, one of the king's closest advisors. She feels her destiny lies in defending the kingdom as a knight, not as a Wizr as her parents have decided, though no lady of the realm has taken up the sword in a century. As she seeks to understand her own Fountain-blessed powers, she studies in the tradition of her mother while training in secret and closely following the realm's politics, alarmed by her mother's vision of an impending clash and a devastating future.

But the pieces on fate's game board are in motion, and on the eve of battle, a threatening force irrevocably changes the future of the kingdom and her own. Does Trynne have what it takes to maneuver Ceredigion's key players into position and outsmart the kingdom's enemies - even those still concealed in shadow?

Another deftly plotted and beautifully read instalment. Highly recommended. If you haven't yet discovered Mr Wheeler you are in for an absolute treat.

The next generation; Arthurian influences

While still in the same series, this book starts another trilogy following Owen's daughter into the next generation of intrigue and machination!

It's possible to see the influence of the King Arthur legend in the story, and that makes it all the more enjoyable.

The writer has very visibly improved his craft, comparing to the first book in the series or to the Muirwood series - which is also excellent.

Kate Rudd keeps on being awesome!

Kingfountain series

Jeff Wheeler just gets better and better with his writing you can't get enough fast enough. Kate Rudd is one of the best narrator's I've listened to. The two together make the series a 10 if there was a scale with 10 on it. I'm glad I don't have to wait for any book to be written in this series.
Sadly his new series starting with Glass Storm i will have to wait .

Addictive.

This has been such a great and addictive series. Kate Rudd, as usual, does a wonderful job narrating.

Great Continuation

This series continues on the path of intrigue. All the characters you want to learn more about with many new characters coming into their own right. In this novel the world we have come to know opens up into a much bigger one, though very little is known yet. It still has some violence, death but overall I didn't consider even as dark as some of the prior books.

A great narrator, a great story, and a fairly big cliff hanger ending.

Best story of the series by far

Almost seems like this was written by a different author. Very little unnecessary dialog or filler text to get page count.

All of Jeff's stories are fantastic.

In my opinion all of his stories have somewhat of a slow start...but once you get into them it is like you are taken away. I always wondered of these authors ability to build these worlds. It is amazing! This author is I would say way up my list. very few have captured me in this way, made me feel emotion not only with the intriquette storylines and characters, but with the little verses of wisdom and poetry it is done with. I cannot express how I love these books. I find myself devouring these in a day, some even less.

This was just an average book for me.

The story line was good but the story was very slow. The last several chapters were , to me, boring. The last chapter started to get more interesting but I'll not continue knowing the books will continue to slow paced. I heard this story through Audible.

Love this series

I have binge listened to the first 4 of the 6 books in this series. A lot of series seem to lose steam after the first couple of books but this one keeps me coming back for more. #blessthefountain #tagsgving #sweepstakes
