Summary

By day, Holly Hudson’s a story editor for Wifetime Network. By night, she’s the writer for the network’s very cheesy, very straight holiday romance series -Christmas in Evermore. Holly took the job to accomplish exactly one thing: A gay Christmas movie. She’s been shot down before, but things start to look up when Meredith Drake unexpectedly moves into the network’s holiday division.

On the heels of a brief (but totally hot) fling, Holly and Meredith agree to keep things professional now that they’ll be working together. Especially since the network has a strict policy about workplace relationships. Instead, they vow to channel their passion into a pitch for the network’s first Christmas movie to feature two female leads.

In this contemporary romance, Holly and Meredith work to make the Yuletide gayer while discovering that happy endings aren’t only for the movies.

Simply a lovely story

Great writing, quirky, funny with a great performance from Lori. The story was believable, a bit Bridget Jones like, with great humour, strong characters and strong relationships among friends. The chemistry between the two main characters was clear and evolved over time. I simply loved this book along with casting Lacey and Road to Maddison. I listened to it in one sitting. This is a must read / listen.

Brilliant

I Loved this story so much!! So much so, that I'm listening to it again! The characters were brilliant and funny! There were so many laugh out loud moments and some gut wrenching tearful ones. And Lori Prince has truly outdone herself with this narration!! She never fails, but this was spectacular! If only this book could be made into a movie!!

Elle Spencer does it again!

Another hit! This book has everything you expect from Ms Spencer: MC’s you’ll love, the best banter and sharp dialogue, entertaining secondary characters, and a story you can escape in too and don’t want to ever end.

Don’t miss reading this book. Really!

Oftentimes a book will have me chuckling to myself, but this book’s witty dialog and crazy antics had me flat out laughing out loud! It has it all—the romance, the Christmas spirit, the quick comebacks and just the right amount of angst leading up to the happily ever after. Please do yourself a favor and listen to Lori Prince do justice to this outstanding story.

Disappointed

It started out good but turned super cheesy and not very believable towards the end. I normally really like Elle Spencer’s books but this one missed the mark☹️

I am a sucker for a lesbian love story. This book doesn’t disappoint. It has it all, great characters (main and side-kicks), humor, heartache, hot sex ( just a right amount) and love. You will smile, cry a bit and laugh at this fun Christmas story. Thanks Ella Spencer ❣️

Upbeat, cheery, holiday romance

I really enjoyed this. Holly is a somewhat awkward but super enthusiastic person I could totally empathize with—hiding her heart behind snark and/or jaded commentary when really she just wants a place to feel like her own. Her group of friends were brilliant, most especially the older actress Gwen from Louisiana, and every scene those two were in together shone. Holly's position as a writer of holiday movies—but, y'know, straight ones, because hey, heaven forbid we get queer ones—was so perfectly balanced, as was the revelations of her childhood. Even better, her sparks with Meredith felt genuine and adorable (especially with Holly second-guessing everything that isn't explicitly stated). The dark moment made me so angry on Holly's behalf I couldn't imagine what Meredith could do or say to fix it, but in the end, I happily joined them in their ultimate destination. The sense of community and found family was really strong in this one, which I adored, and the "small town/family" stuff was holiday-awww, but didn't overwhelm me, which is a delicate balance. I specifically quite appreciated the ultimate place Holly ended up. Now I just wish 'All the Jingle Ladies' was a real movie. I should note the performer was freaking hysterical. Her voices, especially for Holly and her friend, Gwen, were really on point, and totally captured the sort of manic awkwardness/blurting stream of consciousness of Holly so well. I laughed out loud multiple times while I listened.
