Audiobook Review:
Narrated by Willa James & Grayson Owens. Both new Narrators and I really enjoyed listening to their voice becoming these characters. They were both really good with all the different emotions and expressions.
I always enjoy Evie's books but this one was absolutely perfect. Might be one of my favourites of hers. Also this one was told in Dual POV and not Narrated in 3rd POV. So it made it so much easier connecting with the characters.
A Second Chance (12 yrs), brother’s best friend, Fake Engagement and 1 bed.
Brody left after a huge loss, chasing his dreams of becoming an actor. But he let time pass for too long, he felt guilty coming back home. His best friends family took him in as one of theirs.
Eventually once you gets past his grumpiness, he really is a sweetheart.
Piper was a very lovable character. She was full if compassion, care and nice.
She also had a huge crush on her brothers best friend Brody but he broke her heart, left and never looked back. Now she just follows his success from afar.
That is until she is somehow in a fake relationship with him and back home for Christmas with her fake boyfriend.
He needs help to restore his character to seal next acting deal and she promised her mother she will be home for Christmas with her boyfriend.
As always with Evie's books there was plenty of hilarious moments, that will make you LOL. Piper's mum is a hopeless romantic but the woman struggles to call intimacy time as snuggle times 😂.
The small town vibe really makes this story more magical. Through all the PR activities, these 2 are starting to fall. Can they really be together even though he will be leaving again soon?
Also wow Evie, this was your most steamy book to date and I loooved it.
Loved all the festive feelings we was getting from the small town.
Hideaway Harbour is where true love is found. Will Brody and Piper be forever?

Brody’s dirty talk is delicious and their chemistry is phenomenal. The story has the perfect ratio of holiday cheer, character growth, and spicy scenes.

I recieved this book as a digital copy ARC and also on audio in exchange for an honest review. I chose to listen on audio and I was not disappointed in the slightest!
This cosy holiday rom-com follows Piper, a very talented artist and Brody a very sucsessful actor and model. The pair have known eachother since childhood where they grew up in the same small town until Brody moved away to fulfil his dreams.
After 12 years away, Brody is back in town and the two end up fake dating to help Brody's image and hopefully land an upcoming role.
I really loved the relationships and connections in this and seeing the love blossom between both MC's was beautiful.
This is a slow burn but when the spice hits it really hits! It had me blushing and swooning. Brody really does have a dirty mouth on him when he gets going 🤭

I really liked both Brody and Piper as characters, and liked how Alexander builds their relationship. It by no means felt rushed, but it even more so felt much more developed because we know that these two have grown up together and already have a strong base as friends. It all fit together very well to make their romance feel more real.
I also loved the side characters and all their hijinks. Piper’s mom especially is quite the little menace with all her antics to get Brody and Piper together. This being the first of the Hideaway Harbor books that I’ve read, I was kinda hoping that the other books would star some of Piper’s siblings. It seems not, but maybe that just means that Evie Alexander will write more books in the future about them? (Pretty please??)
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that this book brings the spice. Like a lot. And very satisfying. Trust me, you will not be disappointed with that 😉
As far as the plot goes, I could not have been more happy with how it all turned out. I really, really, really dislike a third act breakup in a romance novel and have only found a few that do it well. I was so glad to see that in this book, when Piper and Brody have an issue with miscommunication, they act like adults and actually talk to each other and immediately sort it out. What a concept! I was so worried for a second because I felt that breakup brewing, and then when it didn’t happen it was the biggest relief. I also really appreciated how the conflict of Piper and Brody fitting their lives together was solved. It came together very nicely.
Finally, I have to give an extra shout out because I ended up listening to most of the book on audio. Willa James and Grayson Owen’s did such a good job narrating, I loved how they brought the characters to life.
