Summary

Nestled deep in Litchfield Hills, Connecticut, a 1790 farmhouse sits near the epicenter of a paranormal commotion. The family that resides there regularly encounters its own ancestors and strangers - human and nonhuman - who seemingly occupy the same physical space in our world while remaining in their own parallel worlds. When famous ghost hunters Ed and Lorraine Warren investigated, they dubbed it "Ghost Central".

Here's your chance to unlock and experience the private diary of farmhouse resident Donna Fillie. This amazing record spans five decades and recounts a parade of uncanny occurrences, including notes from old friends who insist they didn't deliver them; a grandson playing with an invisible - but very real - friend; and Donna awakening to phenomena at precisely 12:42 a.m. - an eerie correspondence to her house number, 1242.

This compelling work includes many other unexplainable details of a wide variety of phenomena that frequently occur in this otherwise normal area of Connecticut, which may also be the site of a secret military base.

Not Good!

seemed to be a woman keeping a diary about leaving things in one place, amd finsing them in another... Didnt find it interesting at all... after just listening to the Amityville horror, thos seemed very dull if i'm honest!

The narration is beyond horrible

The female voice is not human, it sounds like a computer - very flat, no voice modulation. I couldn't get beyond the bad performance to pay attention to the story. The male narrator is just as awful. Do not waste your money.

Uh...UFOs do not = Hauntings

Sadly, I was not impressed by this book as a whole. The first quarter of the book was really great! I was hoping for more depth; specifically, why didn't the people living in that home INVESTIGATE the history of the house and/or the land. The owners continually asked, "why?" but never deemed the situation worthy enough to investigate in an archive/library...HELLO!?

Moreover, once it stepped over the line of hauntings to ETs/UFOs and whatnot, I checked out. This subject matter is not why I purchased this book on Audible...I wanted to hear of REAL accounts from people who lived in HAUNTED houses...

Really boring

Extremely boring, repetative, and droning story. I forced myself to listen through chapter 8 but have given up.

Haunted house

This book is literally a 30 diary of experiences that occurred in a haunted house. Its not a scary book, but if you prefer real over a stoned authors demented imagination, then you should get this book.

Subpar

I don't believe this book really stands out in the true horror genre. I'm a believer in ghosts and know that "real" ghost stories aren't of the level they show in the movies but this book was a bit boring. It seems to keep repeating the same themes and ideas in an attempt to keep going rather than end with a shorter book. The reader is awesome. I thought the performance was well done.

A bit... robotic

The story is interesting for this genre but the narration is not unlike that computer female voice that sometimes is on the other end of the 'phone flatly telling me what number to press when. Like reading a bedtime story to your kid with a monotone reading of chemical ingredients or legal notice. it does not leave me with the impression that the narrator was invested in this performance.

Was hard to follow

This book had my interest until the very end. I got totally lost once it started talking about Aliens. I couldn't finish it.

3/4 of book okay...then

I enjoyed daily diary cataloguing of events. Where it completely lost my interest and turned into a ridiculous and pedantic task was the author’s view on religions & the spiritual world. Making bold claims presented as solid unerring laws of the spiritual world distracted me from the interesting heart of the book and actually discredited much of what I had listened to. Get off your soapbox and stand on equal ground with the rest of is. You came off as an authoritarian who is absolutely ignorant.

BORING

The narrator listed the numbered paranormal events in a monotone voice for half the book. I could have made up a list as such. Then the other half was OPINION of what they were. i kept waiting for the E & L Warren investigation which was a bleep, literally a paragraph. When was this woman going to bring in SOMEONE to investigate this house. Finally there was one who kept knocking religion, The Bible, and other paranormal investigators -- saying he could do it better and had a 100% success rate. They even hawked their website. I got the impression this was all about selling a book. The ABSOLUTE worst book I have listened to. If I could I would ask for my money back!
