About this listen

Young FBI agent Chevie Savano arrives back in modern-day London after a time-trip to the Victorian age, to find the present very different from the one she left. Europe is being run by a Facsist movement known as the Boxites, who control their territory through intimidation and terror. Chevie's memories come back to her in fragments, and just as she is learning about the WARP program from Professor Charles Smart, inventor of the time machine, he is killed by secret service police. Now they are after Chevie, too, but she escapes - into the past. She finds Riley, who is being pursued by futuristic soldiers, and saves him. Working together again, it is up to Chevie and Riley to find the enigmatic Colonel Clayton Box, who is intent on escalating his power, and stop him before he can launch missiles at the capitals of Europe.

More twists and turns, making this a very entertaining story with more to follow, great.

Takes book one further without diluting the pace or story.

good follow up

Great 2nd book in the WARP series. It races along with lots of twists and turns, same characters with some good additions. Max does a great job in narrating and voices. Fab ending I could never have guessed. I need to get book 3 now !!

This was an entertaining follow up to the first book in the series, dealing very thoroughly with the themes opened in the first book. One slightly odd development is required in order to keep the new story on track, but this was acceptable in the circumstances.

The tone of this book seemed to alter at around chapter 12, when a tense situation dissolved into comedy. It was amusing, but humour detracts from tension and diluted the suspense. Some of the subsequent twists and turns led my mind to start imagining the characters in the cartoon form, as this seemed more accurate as things became less 'realistic' as it were.

So overall it was good, enjoyable and I expect I would buy the next in the series too, yet the first book was obviously better.

The narration was excellent, although there were a few points where the acoustics seemed to alter as if re-voiced in different conditions, so a slight production issue there.

A decent sequel
