Summary

A ruthless lawyer cross-examines his life after a guilty client walks free in this sharp legal thriller from the bestselling author of The Neon Lawyer.

Ruthless defense attorney Tatum Graham has been living large in Miami, but when his recently acquitted client claims another victim, Tatum has a crisis of conscience. Disillusioned, he heads to his small Utah hometown for a simpler life…but that’s not what he finds.

Soon after he arrives, Tatum’s childhood crush offers him a job at the county attorney’s office and assigns him a murder case. The victim is a teenage girl not unlike the victim in the last case he tried. Now a prosecutor, Tatum sees a chance for redemption, but politics, corruption, and a killer defense threaten to thwart justice.

To complicate matters, Tatum’s estranged father has terminal cancer, and the time to reconcile is running out. Tatum moved to Utah to find clarity, but his thoughts swirl with old feelings and present dangers. As the case heats up, so does the risk, threatening to adjourn Tatum’s new life before it begins.

Well done!

THE HALLOWS is a different Victor Methos novel in that the protagonist, a Miami defense lawyer, joins the prosecution in his small Utah home town. The novel is superb! The publisher's summary sets up THE HALLOWS perfectly. Alexander Cendese's narration is stellar.

This Narrator!!!

This narrator was awful! His women’s voicing was the worst I’ve ever heard. Spent more time cringing at his voice rather than listening to the content.

Excellent book and narration..

Some of the reviewers didn’t finish the book because they didn’t like Tatum’s smart-aleck attitude but I happened to like it, throughout the book. He was never that way toward anyone he liked, it was just toward bad people or plain old jerks.

It was a very good story, about the torture and murder of a 17 year old girl. AND I had no clue who the second person was until the very end. I really like Victor Methos’s books.

There is, of course, no sex and no swearing to speak of.

As to the narration: Alexander Cendese was fabulous. He sounded like a female when necessary and his male voices were great. He’s a wonderful narrator.

I loved “The Hallows”

“The Hallows” is a pretty fast read but definitely worth it!

Our lawyer Tatum, comes back home, gets involved as a prosecutor because his former girlfriend Gina, also a GREAT prosecutor, pretty much begs him to help her with a brutal murder of a beautiful HS Student.

At the beginning everything seems cut and dry. Here’s the suspects, let’s nail them and it’s over! BUT as usual, nothing in great Victor Methos books are cut & dry!

One thing after another happens, including Tatums dad..who he calls by his first name..doesn’t want him there for various reasons , and neither does Tatum.

NO SPOILERS..but I did NOT see that ending coming! I kind of like my suspicions, but BOT the way it evolved. The Author Mr. Methos is one of my favorite authors, not just because he can literally be the lawyer in all his books, but his writing is fabulous!

As far as narration! I love Alexander Cendese...there are narrators that really mess up women’s voices, he’s not perfect, but narrative in good, bad, sad, etc ARE PERFECT!!

Excellent and I highly recommend!!! 5 Stars across the board! I can’t wait to download the authors next book on March 1 either! 👏👏

Excellent Legal Thriller

Easy to get into the story as it flowed smoothly. The characters were developed clearly. The story started slowly but it started to move quickly as it continued. When action was required it moved quickly and with some exciting twists. I was very satisfied with how things wrapped up. The reader was excellent with the necessary voices for different characters and the right tone to inflect tension or potential bodily harm brewing. I look forward to more books by Victor Methos

Abrupt Ending

At the end I was left so much in the air that I thought I hadn’t downloaded the entire book. Crazy. No more than 77 chapters.
