Minor heart attack as the usual Audible intro is in German, however the performance itself is in English. The performance is oddly stilted, almost as though it was text to speech software, American or English learnt from an American source female narrator. Not bad enough to completely spoil the book, but certainly doesn't add anything to the experience.

Story was mildly enjoyable in a sub John Buchanan manner but I suspect that this was originally recorded by an amateur for Libravox the free audio book website and may still be available there. If you don’t know it they rely on volunteers to do the reading. Some are ‘resting’ actors but some are truly awful and shouldn’t be let anywhere near a microphone. This was listenable but read in a boring American monotone and not worth a credit.
