Summary

Number one business best seller (Wall Street Journal, Amazon, USA Today

The Great Devaluation may be one of the most timely books ever written on the state of the global economy. Baratta sums it up simply enough with the following idea: "What seems crazy in normal times becomes necessary in a crisis."

The Great Devaluation is the number one best-selling book that explains why the real crisis facing the world today is not the coronavirus. The real crisis facing the world is explosive government debt and deficits. Governments are now left with no choice but to spend more than they make, borrow more than they can ever repay, and devalue their currencies to cover it all up.

Former Hollywood storyteller Adam Baratta brings monetary policy to life in this follow-up to his national best seller Gold Is a Better Way. You'll learn how and why Federal Reserve polices have facilitated an explosion in government debt and have systematically undermined the world financial system in the name of profit. The result? An out-of-control system where financial inequality has become a ticking time bomb set to blow up the global economy.

Eye opening

I'm so happy I have listened to this book and also gold is the better way. Maybe it should have been called the gold is the best way and the gold is the Only way. Either way, this booked confirmed to me what I already believed in. Thanks a lot for putting it out there! 😊

Blames Trump for not taking the pandemic seriously

I was closely watching the Wuflu in January and February. The best researchers showed it was a man made virus that came from a lab in wuhan. Trump responded appropriately and more serious than any other politician or organization, including the WHO. The corruption and propaganda run deep and have obviously skewed reality for the author and thus, I can't finish the entire book as the author lost my trust. He does not have good judgment or sense for facts but parrots corrupt media messages.

same old story.

not much of any new information. the book is based on old history that can be found in any historical book or blog. wish the author could had added new additional information that was useful for this type of era.

Interesting but not compelling

The author provides a useful background into financial history and convincingly points out some pitfalls in the current economy. Unfortunately he repeats himself a lot, and fails to make the case for his underlying thesis, that gold investments will outperform the market in the future. No doubt he’s a true believer, who just happens to own a lot of gold himself.

Fear mongering

Entertaining read. A lot of the presentation looks to be based off Ray Dalio and his description of debt super cycles. The thought that gold bugs will inherit the earth seems a little flimsy. The writer is an entertainer, and the book was entertaining, but I wouldn’t take that advice and allocate funds towards it.
