About this listen

The crime doesn't always fit the punishment.

A life-and-death hostage situation at Barfield High Security prison brings Governor Helen Hewitt back to her old stomping ground. But things have changed at Barfield.

A new, highly dangerous prisoner poses a threat to the peace, and when discord boils over, the prisoners join forces in an audacious escape attempt. As violence erupts among the officers and the inmates, Hewitt must once again restore order. Before it's too late.

Based on the popular TV series starring Janet McTeer, the complete and unabridged Governor series is now available for the first time in audio.

I have just finished listening to the two audios of the Governor series by Lynda La Plante. I have long been a fan of her work and have quite a collection. So time ago I began to listen to her work on Audible. I have to say that I enjoyed them all over again.
Lately, I purchased The Governor and The Governor part 2; never, have I listened to two more thrilling, exciting, audibles. I thoroughly enjoyed them. I highly recommend them. I await eagerly for a part 3!

Fabulous

Absolutely loved this second book in the series, compelling a page turner so good to follow characters through in the storyline, I do hope there will be a 3rd book, narration was brilliant and added to the storyline

Brilliant compelling prison drama

Enjoyed listening to more of Helen’s life as the governor of Barfield prison… however - not so pleased with the beyond open ending especially as there was no third book.. a little odd to be honest.

Er…. That ending ?!

I really enjoyed this story. It was full of action, life, and death. My only complaint was the last chapter. How did it go with The Mikado? How did it go with the governer at the end of the book? Is there going to be a "The Governor Part 3?"
